What I'm unsure of is this ... lets assume for a moment that a significant portion of Trump's inner circle is implicated in this, and everyone decides to 'do something' about it.

As for the severity of the alleged whatever-it-is... the US is a stable democracy with measures put into place for pretty much any thinkable and some even unthinkable scenarios, including, as we learn from television, the death of the entire elected body of Government. Yeah, but Nixon was just corrupt - not crazy. This has to be resolved much faster, Trump has got 10 or so real loose cannons around him.

It depends on how many Republicans jump on board. As it stands, there's probably 5-8 who would side with Democrats in the next few weeks. If there's more leaks even close to as big as this one, then that number will go up. We'll see how much attention this gets in the next two days.

My issue is the laughable reaction people have to stuff like this. People that just handed their balls to Bernie or Hillary as if they were trustworthy characters, and when they turned out to be corrupt the response wasn't "fuck these corrupt politicians!" no - the regressive left only cares about corruption when it suits them.

This is, if true, an unprecedented... idk what to even call this. I mean, the electoral college was created to prevent this, yet the Republican party allowed this to happen despite the many, many signs that he was unfit for office.

Do they have any guidelines to follow on how to act, if he turns out to be a Russian puppet? Will they declare marshal law?

I suppose it depends on how deep this goes, and who is tainted... but if his whole staff was in colusion with a foreign government, would the country allow them to keep pence as the acting chief, considering the whole campaign was working in step with Russia?

Plenty has already come of this. Flynn was asked to resign. This shows that Trump sat on the knowledge for multiple weeks and lied to us and said he didn't know. The more this happens, the more he will be under scrutiny. Kellyanne Conway's twitter has been an interesting spot for the last few hours, Trump and many other WH staff unfollowed her at the same time, then refollowed. She also removed her header that showed her and Trump together. Seems like she might be the target of some internal attack or forced resign.
