That's strange, I've only seen the term pop up with fervor over the past couple weeks. I like to monitor word usage, it shows where people get their information. Before this morning, you have never used that term on this site, yet you've said it three times today. I have seen it pop up on two different threads in the past 24 hours, with multiple people using it. That's not a coincidence. Writers and pundits use these words on purpose, so they can shift public perception. Now, one would have to ask why you suddenly started using it, or more importantly, who you've been listening to and reading.

For those interested - I have one example of fake news that did make the rounds of CNN/NBC etc, and never got corrected. Fox news was the only one to fix the error.
