[TV] Castlevania

It went from me being slightly aware of it, to hyped as hell, from the looks of it it is based on Castlevania 3. The game thatgot me into the series, and Written by Warren Ellis (Iron Man: Extremis, amongst many other works)

Then there's the part of me going "Uuuuugh game to tv adaption" and "Fuck Konami" But I still can't help but smile as Trevor Belmont makes a comeback.

If it is based off III, I hope we see Grant and Syfa, along with Alucard. I also hope some of the more recognizable melodies from the series worm their way in too (e.g. Bloody Tears, Evergreen).

A lot of animation is outsourced to Japan so that can't be it.

I think anime has a distinctive style, but it's a style that can be copied, so you can't base it off that either. In this case, it's probably better to not judge it before you've seen it.

On the show, I'll probably give it a shot. I haven't played any Castlevania games, but I always advocate more mature and less family-friendly animation in the West.

I can tolerate anime if the voice acting isn't annoying.

It means I consider anime and comics (and possibly also ballet and opera) to be artforms, while black metal, hip hop and A cappella singing is genres of music, modern art is a genre of art, tango is a genre of dancing (making it an activity really), and flatulism is a type of comedy (which itself is a genre).
