Wait...the best defense the GOP can muster for Trumps behavior is, "He's new at this"?

What a fucking pathetic shitshow the party has become. Truly the party of invertebrates, there's not a spine amongst them.
That's just a polite way of saying he's too dumb to know better, which I can accept. I am still willing to believe that Trump has done nothing he knows is wrong.
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

I'm not sure why anybody is surprised anymore.

They've put party ahead of country. They have literally no desire to try and figure out wtf is going on. And hopefully after McCain's complete meltdown of nonsense, we can stop pretending he's being 'brave' by going, "HURR THAT'S CONCERNING!" every time Trump does something ignorant, incompetent, or nefarious.

So, judging by the lack of people calling for Trump's impeachment, I'm going to go ahead and assume that the Comey testimony wasn't the revelation Trump-impeachers were looking for.

Well I mean there is a smoking crater where at all the other usual defenses used to be...

After today, Republicans / Pro-Trump people face a very simple binary choice: either you defend Trump to protect the man Trump, or you defend the institutions and norms he is party to.

Trumpkins... you can't do both and it's choosing time.

It's truly the answer of people in power. A mere shrug.

What I'm leaning towards as well. Trump is an idiotic puppet that got played by his advisers for their own personal means and will go down on obstruction by trying to defend his friends and team.

Trump isn't smart enough to have masterminded this scheme. But that doesn't stop him from being the beneficiary or obstructing justice.

Anyone who thought that anything impeachment-worthy was going to come out of Comey's public testimony was a bloody moron.

Ignorance does not equal innocence though, clearly.

And you would be cataclysmically wrong about that. The thing about impeachment is it's not being called for just as a kind of hype-word to make ourselves feel better. It does no good just to say the word every five seconds. We're dealing with the enormous case Comey has laid out against Trump.

Impeaching Trump... demolishing a Presidency... requires an enormous body of evidence, an air tight case, and a political argument.

    Today, we've gotten all three.

Nobody who knew even an ounce about what was going on was thinking the testimony would somehow lead to an impeachment. Certainly not the public testimony.

I don't know how many times I have to explain it on this forum. The phrase "high crimes and misdemeanors" doesn't require anything more than incompetence. In the articles of impeachment passed through the house judiciary committee for nixon, article 2 section 4 essentially said either he's guilty or incompetent, and either one is enough.

More that Comey's testimony just strengthened and confirmed existing claims. It didn't add anything and merely just dismantled counterarguments by the pro Trump side.

Still enough to pose Trump a huge problem.

The opposite actually, all the fluff on both sides of the equation seems to have been blown away - people are just trying to focus now on a smaller amount of higher quality information.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

Comey releases his own memos to the NY Times - in hopes of getting a special prosecutor....

Err it was a massive revelation. Comey put Trumps carcass on a platter ready for the oven. All it requires is some politicians willing to turn up the heat.

And put the claims on the Congressional record, not just in the media as a news report.

Once again, Trump's worst days when it comes to Trump-Russia are head of him, not behind him.

The hearing was aweome, and the deflection (read td while at it) was much better.
Comey is a true patriot, and trump should be removed from office.

Wait, but Russians hacked Clinton campaign... how could it not be in the scope of investigation? :/

Pretty much. Comey basically took what were just media reports, confirmed them, and put them on congressional record all without impeding the active investigation or revealing classified information.

This was a huge loss for Trump's team.

Taken with what happened recently with Sessions reportedly offering to resign, and Trump not offering a vote of confidence, that was even more of a bombshell than people realize.

This will get nasty. It is just a matter of time
