No order, picking only one from a series:
    - World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade
    - Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
    - Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty
    - The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
    - Pokémon Gold
    - Tekken 3
    - Spyro 3
    - Super Smash Bros Melee
    - Stronghold
    - Command&Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
    - Go (board game)
    - Werewolf (social deduction game)
    - Trauma Center: Second Opinion

I must be forgetting a bunch. Crash Bandicoot series was generally very good but I can't fit a single game which was truly amazing.

All Points Bulletin gets my vote for the best worst game of all time. That game had so much potential, but never made it past the beta phase.
Oh man, I cannot believe I forgot about Metal Gear Solid 1. That was a huge game changer for me. My mom bought me a PS1 for Xmas and that was one of the games she bought as well. Totally blew my mind at the time.

APB still exists in some for today but I hear it is total trash. Sad, it had some cool ideas. In a similar vein, I think Shadowbane is my best worst game. An ambitious MMO that just came out at the wrong time. Came out just over a year before WoW did. It was totally based around the idea of player run cities and towns. It gave the players the ability to not only build their own cities, but band together with other cities and form player run nations. Then you could go to war with other nations and actually siege and destroy their cities. Each server actually had it own unique map as well with similar zone types, but totally different layouts. Sadly, the developers were new to running an MMO and it had loads of technical issues and by the time they hired additional staff, WoW had been released and it steamrolled over every other MMO.

Shadowbane was an awesome game. It was very similar to UO in that the players were the content and made their own stories. I've never seen a game infuse politics, backstabbing, and ethical issues into a game like that before. The massive battles were a blast as well, and class design was great too. I played a "Chainsaw" Centaur Barbarian and the ability to run people down with dual throwing axes was a hilarious good time.

The biggest problem the game had was that once your alliance was defeated, it was very hard to get back into the game. I'm not sure how you would solve that problem with the ambitions they had, but Shadowbane was a great game otherwise.
Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

Heh yeah. I initially played a elf either ranger or scout (think scout) "Black Mask" Had so much fun running around the perimeter of my guild/nation's area using that track foe ability to keep track of rival guilds and anyone who would try to sneak into our territory to use our level grinding camps to call them out to guildmates to have them squashed or during battles hunting down other scouts and stragglers left on their own.

Then myself and three of my friends all made Nephilim Wizards. A nasty combo that let us fly above battles invisible and nuke down targets. The Nephilim were one of two flying races but the only one that could be wizards and while flying drained stam the wizard had a damage spell that also drained stam from the target so we could remain in the air as long as we had something to kill. We were each named after an infectious disease (I was Diphtheria). It was damn funny to watch groups go nuts when 4 Neph wizards would suddenly appear in the sky above their back group and start taking out all their healers and support. It was downright evil and loads of fun.

Yeah, I remember it took a ton of resources to build a city, having it all be destroyed was devastation. Especially considering that you could be attacked in the middle of night and then wake up to nothing left but the seed tree thing in the middle of what used to be your city. Granted sieges were so damn laggy and broadband internet was rare back then that I don't think all that many people actually managed to totally destroy a city. Do some serious damage sure, but not completely destroy anything. Such a great game that just would not work today.

That is a giant list honestly, especially between '98 and '04 in particular.

In terms of recent stuff though Bloodborne no question. I love Demon's Souls, I really like Dark Souls, REALLY like scholar of the first sin, can stand DS3 but thats a bit beside the point which is its artstyle, its themes, its combat, its soundtrack, its level layout make Bloodborne not just my hands down favourite game this gen so far but easily in my top ten period. Such a truly standout excellent game. Not perfect no game is after all, but what it does it does so well i could not care less about its shortcomings. Beaten it like 12 times and around Halloween i will probably play it again.

I mean I guess the games that have most inspired me would be:

Metal Gear Solid (all of them apart from 5. I know it's a fantastically designed game, but for me it's just not the same experience.)

World Of Warcraft, obviously the reason I'm on the forum. Don't play it anymore but hell, it got me through a lot.

    Final Fantasy 6 onwards.

Lastly, particularly fond memories of Smite and SC2, playing with my best friend who I don't really talk with anymore, but that's probably more nostalgia.
