Now that "LFR Needer For Hire" is identified as WoW gold maker, what next?

Now that it has been identified that people are advertising themselves out as "LFR Needer For Hire", do you think Blizzard will act to prevent this in some way? Will they hotfix it somehow to make it impossible, or make it a suspendable or banable offense (I don't think it is at this point, is it?)? If a person has nothing better to do with their toon and their weekly LFr run than to get the tokens, why not use it as a method to earn gold from players who still need tokens and gear? You get one chance per week per toon regardless, so how one uses that chance should really be up to them, shouldn't it? If a person takes the time to level up an 85, and takes the time to run the LFR each week, perhaps they should be allowed to maximize the potential of this run. Its an intriguing idea. I may consider it myself once I'm done getting the gear I actually want from the LFR, since I want the 500 valor anyways.

What do you guys think of this mentality? Should we look negatively to players who think and act this way? More importantly, Blizzard, do you intend to allow this to be a part of the game, or is it something you will look to remove from the game at some point? I'm really interested in seeing a blue post to get Blizzards take on this!

Considering the LFR was designed as a way to have people see the content who would generally not be able to do so, not collect gear quickly and reliably, I don't really think they need to do anything, any more than they needed to take action against GDKP groups.

It will be harder after expansion to do so, since you will get Role Bonus on less gear.

Maybe they'll fix it after they fix it so the fucking rolls will identify when a person already has a fucking UNIQUE trinket, so that they can't roll on it again.

um... the trinkets are "Unique-Equipped" and thus is working as intended to prevent 2 being equipped but allowing any number in a players bank/bags

How is this any different than selling spots in a run with a tank for no que times, or selling spots for current-level titles/meta mounts?

If you don't like the practice, /ignore the person doing it, problem solved.

I saw someone say in one of my LFR runs 'if someone can roll on the paly gear i'll pay for it' and the response they got was pretty clear.. GTFO.

This just needed to be stated again. If you place another person on ignore you will never be placed in another random raid with them again.

For ignoring players on a different server, the command is:

    /ignore Playername-Servername

Yea ive seen this. someone pays 5 people of the same spec to queue as dps and need on the gear the guy needs. pays each person 500g per loot.

This is behavior which is reprehensible, sure, but there's nothing Blizzard can do about it short of making LFR gear untradeable, which opens up a whole new can of worms.

That said, OP, you aren't going to get a blue post here. These aren't the official forums, and they aren't moderated by Blizzard staff.

It's very different, because it is selling your services to unfairly weight loot rolls in favor of one player against the other random players in a group. When you sell yourself as a tank or sell a spot for a meta or title, you are not adversely affecting anyone else.

There are just always people that will do ANYTHING for gold/money

I started seeing this practice appear on my server today. I don't like it, but I doubt there are any rules about it.

To be honest I dislike LFR in general. It's like when you had to run both 10 and 25man every week, only this time instead of being a 25man guild forming a couple of 10man groups, we're a 10man guild having to join 25 different random scrubs, so we can't organise groups and distribute loot fairly.

I'm wondering what the major negative repercussions would be to not having LFR loot be tradeable. They would have to sort out the issues with duplicate pieces dropping so that someone can't win two of the same piece, but beyond that, it would at the very least prevent selling rolls and guilds stacking LFR.

Why would not making LFR loot tradeable open up a whole new can of worms? If anything it would clean up some loot disputes as nothing could be done about them.

Blizz won't do anything about this same as they won't do anything about "LFD tank for hire". They are both clever use of badly designed mechanics.

I was specifically thinking of the scenario where two identical items drop. You need them both to double your chances. You win both. You (would be) stuck with both. This isn't a terribly rare situation - it happens to someone in about 50% of my LFR runs. There's also "Oops, misclick" situations, etc.
