Enhance shamans extinct?

I just hope my RNG with getting enha shamans in lfr is bad, but still - I cant remember when I saw enha shaman in game.

In two lockuots, with 2 chars, I played 16 ToT LFR-raids in total, and I was only enha shaman in all of them. Ofc, I played more raids, but in these last 2 lockouts, I was paying attention to roster.

Many times I end up with 3-5 ele shammies, but not a single "brother in arms".

Anyone got similar experience? Whats the reasons for that?

As far as I know enhancement shamans are fewer and far-er? in between because they are a fairly difficult spec/class combo to master in terms of micro managing and min maxing, though maybe I'm just stupid and it's not as hard as I'm finding it. I am personally one of about 3-4 enhancement shamans that I know on my highly populated server. Sure their might be more, but I never see them.

I have played enh. Since Vanilla. On and off, but played a lot. Was my main in most of Wrath and Cata, but the "press the ability that is not on CD" paradigm seems so dull to me. After playing an arms/prot warrior since the launch of MOP , I just cant go back to my shammy. I've tried several times, because I like the Magic-melee idea, but it just seems so boring and predictable. You might think WTF isnt Arms warriors predictable too? They are, but its different, rage as a resource and enrage uptime plus their stuff just makes warriors more appealable for me.

I'm not sure why this is seen as a bad thing, more fun to play a lesser represented class in my opinion. I think it's typically the case that Enh shamans are undre-represented because they aren't a FoTM class like some of the other melees.

Feral and enhancement are substantially worse then any other melee in PvE and RBGs.

I would kill for some horn-rimmed glasses on my Enha Shaman. I would then kill again for a Guild Tabard of an obscure, off the beaten path indie rock band. I would sit in Orgimmar and write my movie on scrolls.

No offense, I myself have second shaman just for enha fun. But in the end players will choose efficiency.

Enhancement is getting buffs in 5.3, and it already is a bit ahead of elemental in single target, isn't it? ToT just tends to favor chain lightning spam/ranged in general a bit too much, but I think we might see more enhancement shamans in the future.

To be fair, I play my shaman as elemental/resto, too.

Probably because enhance brings nothing that elemental can't bring in a better form. Ele brings stormlash, a better healing tide iirc, blood lust, and they're ranged with better AoE.

Same reason you don't see ferals. They don't bring anything that other classes can't bring, in a better form.

It's probably simpler than you're thinking.

The people in LFR are mostly either MSV/HoF/ToES raiders trying to get more gear or casuals trying to do any content at all.

DPS queues are long (half hour plus oftentimes). Healer queues are short. So they LFR as resto.

Then, when they have tank/healer friends to queue with, guess what? They already have all this caster mail, so they go ele because it outgears their enhance.

I played enhancement when the best enha pvp spec didn't include stormstrike. You probably never heard of it, it was so long ago.

EXTINCT ? As long as I wield my Stormherald this class will never be extinct, we may be few but we are the best !

Still here, still loving it, our dmg isn't bad and our utility is pretty damn good atm.
