I miss Ironforge

I have been playing WoW ever since the end of Vanilla, and throughout my time in this game one of my favorite places is Ironforge. It used to be the main city Alliance side from Classic through Wrath on most servers. Then Wrath ended and they put the cata portals in SW and the majority of players shifted to SW. There are still the lone few who hang around/afk in IF, but I find it to be such an annoyance to be there due to no transmog/reforge, portals, or players. What I want to know is why there can't be these things in all major cities? I feel like a lot of design/effort that went into making these cities when they came out is wasted as now the only people who ever use them is the occasional low level and maybe 3-4 level 90's. I know some of the capitals have been essentially ghost towns since there creation (Exodar, Silvermoon, Darnassus, ...) but why do they gimp the rest of them by not putting essential things in the cities?

I'm pretty sure that Blizzard just felt bad that the Alliance had such an awesome city that they needed to make people leave it so the Horde didn't feel so bad

I really believe that people should worry less about being efficient and set hearth any damn place they please. I've hearthed to Dalaran this entire expansion and don't regret it for a minute. If you like IronForge that much (and I like it quite a bit) then hearth there and take the tram to SW if you need to for the Pandaria portal.

Back when Ironforge used to be Lagforge, good times.

Stormwind is an eyesore and the current background music is awful, so I just heartstone Ironforge, and then if I have to go to Stormwind I just take the tram, it's np.

I always stayed in Ironforge and super super rarely visit Stormwind, nothing never changed for me. The first time I saw the statue of Modimus Anvilmar in the entrance, holding his Hammer and Axe high I knew this will always be the city I will hang around in.

They should pimp out all the cities with portals/etheral trading. They made a huge step by putting all the class trainers in every city, but decided to just stop there, sort of making that a completely wasted effort. They should also put the essentials in 'unofficial' cities like bilgewater harbour and gnomeregan.

I agree with you, and had it set that way the entirety of Cata and beginning of MoP, but my problem is why can't they put the portals/ethereals in all cities, I see no reason why they can't do this.

I had my hearthstone set in Darnassus because it's my favourite city and it doesn't take long to get to Stormwind with the boat but I agree they should put all the vendors and portals in every city.

I have my hearthstone in the panda main city. it has a portal to each other main city so it is a perfect place In my opinion.

I miss Ironforge aswell. Would love to put my HS there, but it just isn't practical anymore. As much as I wanna be there, I'm not going to waste several minutes of my life using the tram to get to Stormwind every time I need to go to Pandaria.

I tend to put my HS on the portal hub city of the expansion, so Dalaran, Stormwind and now Shrine of the Seven Stars (for WotLK, Cata and MoP respectively). But whenever I logged out in WotLK, I went to Ironforge. Today, I always logout in Stormwind.

I miss that. There'd usually be like 10 people in there, and you'd all have a good laugh. Remember when "AH Bridge" was the place to be for trades and lockbox openings... Good stuff man.

I think they should totally rebuild Ironforge. Have more rock formations, make it really feel like it has been chised out of a mountain, rather then smooth stone, rock and circles. Stalagmites & Stalactites over the place, making it all feel very inside a mountain!
