Dear God please don't do No 3.

I HATED that crap in Guild wars 2. I level for a reason and I don't want to be scaled down so I have to be cautious around level 1 mobs.
If they do this, they might just as well remove the retarded leveling grind and make questing through stories optional.

Careful with the use of colors. MMO-Cs mods don't like it and will infract you when you use them too often.

Even GW2 had to implement a gear progression because it just doesn't work w/o one.

I like most of your points. However, #10 is something I'm beyond tired of hearing. We need a fourth spec like we need another hole in our heads.

Agreed, I would sooner see them repurpose existing under utilised specs.

I have to problem with gear behind reputation. We always had that.

But DOUBLE GATING by using rep AND Valor is an utterly IDIOTIC concept that needs to DIAF.

    No no no.

Even if 10 man LFR only required 1 tank, it will still result in longer queue times overall.

The thing is, it would need a business model change to begin with. GW2 sort of works because it's B2P. So people buy the game, fool around a bit with it, and that's about it. In a sub-based game, you need an incentive (aka treadmill) to keep going, otherwise there is no point to having a sub in the first place. Gear is just the consequence of that.

I'm with you on no new classes. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but design space for current classes is cut every time a new class comes into play, so I'd argue we have more than enough already.

Adding 4th specs is a pretty decent idea, although there are several classes that already have too little difference between the specs they already have, so adding a 4th would be tough. For instance, rogue and hunter specs are almost indistinguishable, DK DPS specs play pretty similarly, even arms and fury struggle to to find differences aside from using 1 or 2 weapons, and so on.

There's also the problem of adding more tanks in particular, and healers to a lesser degree. Monk tanks took an enormous amount of design creativity to work in without feeling like a copy of another tank's mechanics - Stagger and Purifying brew as a substitute for armor, but for their actual survival mechanics, they ended up being a hybrid of druids and dks (avoidance with self-healing as a reliable buffer). So far, I've yet to see anyone come up with any additional ways to tank that aren't just a different skin on one of the current tanks, particularly given the way active mitigation works these days. Healers are also in a similar boat - there's only so many ways to keep your allies alive, and every healer has to be able to bring useful raid cooldowns -- so adding another class competing for the very limited number of possible healing mechanics is just going to be annoying for balancing current healers.

This is also partially true for DPS specs, of course - Windwalker definitely competes with rogues and shamans and so on for mechanics (Shamans could have easily picked up Storm Earth & Fire if Monks didn't, for example), but there's a lot more design space for designing ways to kill things.

Adding new specs rather than classes is a great way to work around that because most of the unique special mechanics that other classes would care about are at the class-level rather than the spec one - so you can get away with adding a new warlock spec that doesn't require a bunch of new special things to distinguish it - because they already have the entire set of unique warlock mechanics.

So bottom line - I'm fine with adding new specs for classes. I'm not fine with adding new roles to classes that didn't have them before. If they're playing with the "support" role idea, that would be a great thing to add in particular to current pure DPS classes - but adding a warlock tank spec (or a Death Knight healing spec, and so on and so on) would cause a lot of problems. However, I think with some creativity, they could add different types of DPS specs to classes (e.g., it's easy to picture a hunter with the "Rexxar" kit being a melee DPS, or a rogue spec that uses a bow/gun and thown weapons from ranged).

I agree with all of your points but 1, number 10:
It will just make balancing a living nightmare, and also, most 4th speccs will feel ridiculous and unreasonable.
If at all, some speccs should just be changed, to fulfill a slightly different role, like for Enhancment shamans to have the abillity to tank a boss for a short duration, or be a weak off-tank etc.

Oh, I understand. However, I think scaling could do a better job for that in PVP.

And would only make the problem it proposes to fix worse, 4 AFK in 25 is manageable... 4 afk in 10man... is game over.

Hunter: A melee spec like survival originally was intended to be.
    Warlock: A tanking spec.
Shaman: A tanking spec like enhancement sort of was originally.
If we are going to get new specs... can we get something... new? Like a new paradigm - not just oh hey now x is like y. A pet based tank class(pet tanks not you), a dps buffer(whos main purpose is to boost others rather then himself), something...

    1) Merge dead realms
I suspect virtual realms will deal with this, but that remains to be seen.

    2) New character models.
Eh, while nice, its not a game breaker for me. I quite like WoWs models as they are. As long as the improved models don't impact the games performance, i'm fone with them.

    3) Dynamic questing.
A nice idea, but I think converting the game to this would be WAY more effort than I'd wanna see the dev team spend. I'd rather new content or some story phased version of zones

    4) More exclusive content and less faction bloat.
Nah, I like having factions to gain rep with. The only real reason people got butthurt in MoP was tying valor gear to factions. I'm pretty sure the amount of complaints and daily hate that resulted from this is something that will ensure it won't be repeated. Me tho, I LIKE having factions to gain dailies with....but I also disliked having the valor gear tied into them, ESPECIALLY when I started playing my alts.

    5) Reputations should be an alternative way to gear up instead of mandatory. I like the wrath/cata system: Have some decent quality blue gear that becomes available really early, and exalted has a few pieces of starter tier epic gear. This way, you can still ignore the reps if u want too, but doing them IS worth maxing out. Hell, I wouldn't be adverse to faction epics being rewarded via storyline mini chains like Golden Lotus and Klaxxi.

    6) Reputations should be account wide. Hmmm....given this wouldn't lock me out of doing the dailies, and would also allow me to easily access faction items for my crafter alts...yes I agree with this. Though that does seem a bit TOO easy, so maybe requrie that you still at least ding friendly to be auto dinged to exalated on alts.

    7) Bring back dungeons! I was MAJORLY burned out on heroics by the end of cata. IOn my mine its no real differance from LFR save that I don't get the chance to get the tier models for my alts.

    8) Change LFR into 10 man mode. HELL NO! Queues are bad enough as is at the moment. I think Blizzs' reasons for 25 man LFR make sense.

    9) Remove PVP gear. I dunno, people enjoy grinding gear up and it seems unfair to take away the reward for PVPers. I think the current system is fine, where guys like me that have a PVE focus can easily trade in JP for honor and buy old gear, and the people with a PVP focus have better gear than me.

    10) 4th specs for all classes. That seems like it'd require WAAAAY more(too much) balance than one new class with 3 specs. The devs have said before (I'm sure) that each spec is basically a class until itself.

At the end of the day, just for interests sake, I'd really rather have a new class than a different way of playing the same old classes we already have.

    11) Reduce button bloat! yes, this NEEDS to happen, nothing sucks more than trying a new class and discovering how many damn buttons and abilities you need to use on a regular basis. I don't mind extra abilities you use sometimes like cooldowns and such, but normal "rotations" should be small (MHO)
    .

    12) Make classes feel different again. I get where you're going with this, but I also find it MAJORLY sucks when there's a certain ability you need but miss out on, or in situations where you feel FORCED to take a certain ability, despite no one playing that class. Nothing is more anti fun than someone having to reoll a class for raiding.

    All is IMO.

Reducing button bloat has to happen; do classes really need 2-3 abilities that do the same thing? I don't think so. They should consolidate buttons so each class has no more than 10-15 "action" buttons, and then they can add extra things for the buffs/class specific things (think paladin hands) and the like. I think that factions need to have the majority of gear rewards be available at Revered or even Honored, and Exalted should ONLY have cosmetic things, pets and mounts. You should never feel like you have to grind out Exalted rep with a faction for gear. I'd like to see them go back to JP gear being used to gear up, because in mists it felt like JP gear had zero purpose at all. I think maybe I bought one piece of JP gear the whole expansion and that was at the very start before they removed the gating on it. What they should do is go back to the old idea that JP/VP (when it was still badges) was for those odd items that not many people used. Shields, offhands, things like that should all be from points to ease the usually extremely low drop rate of that type of loot when they are such huge upgrades for the classes that want them. There's no reason why a tank, for instance, should be stuck using a crappy blue shield for half the expansion because shields have such a low drop rate from bosses; remove it entirely as boss loot and let it be purchasable with points.

    1) Squish ilevel, normalize ilevel/stat gain

    2) Change DR system in PvP, less CC

    3) Promote casting, remove some interrupts

    4) Remove knockbacks in PvP

    5) Increase difficulty of monsters and quests at low level

    6) Increase difficulty on Heroics and LFR (alt remove LFR)

    7) Spectate for arenas, also skirmishes

    8) Remove some defensive cds so you can't stack them to be invincible

    9) Revamp Outland leveling experience

    10) Rework PvP Power/PvP Resilience so there's incentive to gem it
