Birthday Gifts!
As characters created right at the launch of Guild Wars 2 hit their first birthdays, it’s time to introduce our first Birthday Gift! Characters that are one year old will receive a Mini Queen Jennah, a 24-hour Birthday Booster, and a Scroll of Experience.


New Features

World vs. World XP and Point adjustments
We’re making it easier to earn World XP points for playing normally in World vs. World by increasing the WXP rate across the board! As an added bonus, we’re adjusting World vs. World Ability Points so that your total points are equal to your current rank. New characters will start off with one ability point, and all existing characters will receive one more!

World vs. World Trebuchet Mastery
Become a master of destruction with the new Trebuchet Mastery ability line! Increase your efficiency with Trebuchets by upping your basic shot damage, increasing your Trebuchets’ hit radius, adding a new supply-draining effect to your basic shot, and learning a new Healing Oasis skill that provides healing to your teammates.

The End of Culling in PvE
On August 20, we’re turning off culling, which will remove the limit on the number of characters you can see on-screen at once. The cities of Tyria will now be even more vibrant and bustling than ever!

The Queen is actually the Emperor from Star Wars and has used her Mesmer powers to build a huge illusion to enslave the masses.

Her goal with the jubilee was to gather Tyria's best and brightest all in one spot to kill them all in one go.

Maybe Queen isn't Queen now. Maybe it's someone disguised as her? Or Queen is Queen but is 'bad'. And Anise too.

But most likely during her speech Aether Blades will appear and maybe they will add a story mode dungeon to save Jennah. Again...

Iirc it is usually the day before? So it would be the 19th? I am always at work during them so I haven't paid too much attention, but gj on being confusing Arenanet.

Also I am super sad the mini is Queen Jenna... literally anything else would have been better imo.

I wonder what the big surprise is though. Maybe there will be an Aetherblade coup and then we have a huge storyline of fixing it... probably too much to hope for though

The setting adjustments you can make currently will expand beyond just WvW, and simply be a game wide setting you apply for culling rules. For most folks, this means you can adjust the settings to actually improve your performance over current performance if you wish, since fallback models and name-tags are cheaper than full model renders.

If you do want to turn everything up to insane, you also now have that option to see an extremely large number of people in all their graphics glory. The choice is entirely yours!

Not looking forward to this! It's bad enough I have to keep changing my settings when I get into WvW then change them back when I get out again. I'd rather not have another option to keep changing over and over.

They need to allow us to save two graphics settings and switch between them on the fly.

The way I read it is it'll be one slider for both, so you can just set it to what works for you and leave it there instead of having to keep adjusting it.

Also they fixed the Dev livestream error and it will be on 8/20.

First time I saw those fallback models it sincerely freaked me out lol. I was with a couple friends in the EB JP about a month ago, had to turn down my settings cuz I was getting some lag. I wasn't on vent which was unusual and I get up to the top and see my friends running around in these dark thief outfits and was like lol wtf is this roleplay? They turned around and omg THEY HAD NO FACES.

• making gay marriage legal so she and Anise can co-Queen. (Poor Logan. Imagine the roleplay with two mesmers though!)
• is pregnant with a dragon's baby.

Re: Culling. I want an option to turn all the players into stick figures. I like to know the amount of people around me, but I don't need to see every detail on them. :P
