Thats the thing about being a parent, you have those options. The kid came to them asked them about it they should have done more than said oh well hormones can't be stopped. It's called parenting you inform your kid whats best and sometimes you have to be the bad guy to prevent them from doing something that is not in their best interest.

But you don't know if it was or wasn't. The mind of a teenager is fucked up and more crazy that Beavis and Butthead in the desert. They would have had sex anyways and they have those options yes but doing them would do more harm then just letting her have sex.

They did tell her to wait. But at the end of the day there's no way they could have prevented it... just what do you expect them to have done, imprison her in the house until she was old enough?

At 13 she should have been "imprisoned" as in you two will not be alone together. You can see each other in school, the boyfriend can come to our house for dinner and then you can watch TV/play video games/etc in the open living room, the boyfriend can join us on family outings to the zoo etc. I would never just allow my 13 year old child to have sex. I also don't believe a 13 year old should be allowed to date, let alone have a boyfriend and if they are allowed to date it should be very well supervised.

Even at 15 and 16 my boyfriend was only allowed in my room during the day and the door had to be wide open. My parents weren't just going to let me do what I wanted because of "hormones"

Was it a criminal offense in Germany? Yes...and her parent's were fined for it because they are responsible for their children's actions up to a certain age (Usually 18).

Because you can keep kids under lock and key 24/7? You were either one hell of a parent or never a parent. Honestly it is backwards views of sex education and ignorance of the sexual activity of our "kids" which leads to countries with such high teenage pregnancy issues.

Kids can, will, and do have sex when they want to/feel they are ready to. Be that like this young girl at thirteen or later in life in their twenties. The best thing you can do is actually make sure your children are informed, educated and actively practice safe sex.

Now i do not in agree thirteen is the right age to become sexually active and would do everything possible to discourage such a thing, but I also am not ignorant to what our children can and will get up to; it is far better to ensure that they are educated and safe rather than try to enforce a prohibition like abstinence which will ultimately fail.

It was almost 2 decades ago for me, and thanks to copious amounts of "products" in my teens I probably don't even remember it now. I mean at 15 and 16, it was definitely "bang everything"...but I don't recall being 13 and thinking "all these flat chested chicks get me so hot."
