Do you believe in dark entities?

I had a terrible event happen to me early this morning about 4 am and it left me shaken. I can't get out it of my head. I feel like something bad might happen to me. I originally shrugged it off as a nightmare however I was aware of what time it was and I was originally planning to get up and get a glass of water but this event left me really scared that I hid under my duvet. Although I didn't see the dark entity because I had my eyes tightly shut I pictured it being 3 meters tall and incredibly black like looking into it might cause you to be lost in a void of some kind.

I believe in the supernatural and I believe that there's a bad in this world that influences us and leads us to become corrupt and immoral. My closest friend who I confided in said it was just a bad dream but I believe it's something more.

Am I being contacted by a dark entity?

    No.
Your brain does seriously wacky shit when it's waking up.
I've experienced sleep paralysis a number of times when waking up in the middle of the night, often accompanied by hallucinations/phantom noises. Your brain is still transistioning from sleeping/dreaming to waking and sometimes the dreaming bleeds over into reality.

Sleep paralysis often creates hallucinations of this type. There wasn't actually anything there.

I have never experienced sleep paralysis before and I rarely dream, at first I chalked it up to my mind playing tricks on me but after a few hours of being awake the event really sunk in and I've become really worried.

What if it happens again tonight/morning?

For someone like me who believes that there's an evil in this world, an evil that we cannot see or touch, I feel really compromised and vulnerable.

Is there anything I can do?

You seriously wouldn't shurg it off if you experienced it. This was real. I'm not crazy.

It was not real, there are no dark entities. If you don't want to look for the rational answer, then yes you would be crazy.

But since you say "I believe in the supernatural and I believe that there's a bad in this world that influences us and leads us to become corrupt and immoral. " I guess you believe in the forces of light and the forces of darkness, thus not in one entity that is all, but several which opens up all kinds of shit and..well..GL with living in THAT state of mind / world
I've read that wiki page on my phone before I even got out of bed.

But there's no proof sleep paralysis is real. What it makes that explanation valid?

And like you said I am screwed.

I should also mention that I distinctively remember flipping to the right side of the bed (facing the wall) as I felt the prescense was on the left, standing over me, watching me - doing what I couldn't tell you.

It really was just your mind playing tricks on you. I know what it's like to feel unsettled by the experience though. If it happens again, I'd advise you to get out of bed, watch some tv or read a book or do something that relaxes you for a little while. You became worried because you're dwelling on it, and reading more into the event than was actually there. Think of it as your brain misfiring when you're going from a sleeping state to a waking state. Our brains are pretty damn complex and sometimes they just do strange stuff :P

Sleep paralyses has nothing to due if you are crazy or not. The simple answer is the Body paralyses itself to stop it from hurting itself(Imagine a Dog chasing a Rabbit in its sleep, except it stands up and starts running)

Once in a while due to stress, bad luck etc etc, the body wakes up while still paralysed. Panic sets in and the brain starts thinking their is danger and starts seeing, sensing demons, etc, trying to locate the danger.

Edit: nope best solution is to find the cause if their is one(stress?) otherwise you just got to stay calm and try to tell yourself what is happening.

If dark forces were real, I'd sell my soul to the nearest one. Dark forces always have the coolest powers.

Sounds like waking up from maybe a bad dream of intrusion or thinking there's an intruder and afraid. Check you didn't have a burglar though.

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely try and work up the courage to get out of bed and face up to this creature should I have the unfortunate chance to experience this again.

I do not think that it was mind playing tricks on me for what it's worth though. I actually believe I had made contact with an evil supernatural entity

I've woken up and could have sworn someone was sitting in my computer chair staring at me.

Turns out, it was just a pair of pants that I'd thrown over the chair before I went to bed...

    So, no.

I was not paralysed. I moved to the right side of the bed (away from the dark entity). The opinion appears to be that the paralysis led to my hallucination however I was never paralysed. But all my searches come up with paralysis on google (the wiki link above). I made the conscious decision not to move and hide under my duvet to wait out the entity.

Oh sleep paralysis is not real but your demons are? The thing that you didn't see because you kept your eyes shut and then turned the other way?
What it makes that explanation valid?

I had my eyes tightly shut I pictured it
You kind of answered your own question.

First of all, have u been seein terror movies in the last 7 days? Have you been reading on the subject of dark entities? If u have its ur mind that creates all this stuff. If not. Have you consumed drugs? If you have drugs, leave us vulnerabke to contact from both good and bad. If this is the case or if its not the case but you believe in the supernatural as they said before that means you also believe in the light be it a christrian god or simply a more powerful belevolent energy , ask to it protection where there is light there cannot be darkness.

And to the people that dont believe well dont dismiss his believes like that, let him be, science is science because it has not discovered all thats why we keep exploring new theories and what not.

I don't get why you're dismissing the idea that I experienced a supernatural prescense entirely. I'm aware that it perhaps may be less rational than chalking it down to something so ordinary as sleep paralysis but there's no proof for the latter beyond anecdotes. Perhaps if there was actual testable science behind your explanation I would be convinced. However my personal beliefs have made me consider a supernatural explanation where science has failed me.

Probably not. But you can't be sure so don't forget to seal your entrance with salt. Just grab a good handfull of salt and draw a straight line in front of every door. This should keep the devil out for good.

If you have some holy water around the house, use it as a devil repellent as well. Just put it into a spray bottle and spray it on your furniture, kitchen and bed... This works 100%

Sleep Paralyses can last anywere to less then a second, to very rare instances of lasting hours. Even after the paralyses itself wears off the brain is still in a state of confusion and senses danger, were their is none.

I started reading a sci-fi/horror novel called "The Echo" Mid-noon. It's about a space crew that make a journey to a recorded anamoly thousands of miles away from earth. I only read 50 pages.

I appreciate you humouring my personal beliefs.
