While checking Facebook this morning, the top of my news feed disturbed me. My friend's wife posted bath pictures of her toddler. There was a full frontal shot of this 2 year old boy.
I'm not what foreigners might consider "typical American afraid of nudity", but I was not wanting or expecting a naked child to be the first thing to appear when opening FB.
It has me wondering if I'm just being weird, because I think the idea of posting nudes of your child online is a really bad idea. I know, but don't understand why, many parents seem to obsess over naked baby pictures. I don't have children so maybe someone can explain it to me. It just seems like the only reason for them is to blackmail teenagers ("when you bring your prom date over I'm going to bust out your baby book").
Also, what/where is the line drawn for child pornography vs baby pictures? I don't think she had bad intentions in any way, but it seems like a good way for the pictures to end up in the wrong hands.
