To add, thats claiming you stopped being an idiot just because you changed your name. The US thatmaintained slavery longer than the CSA was also the CSA.

Why? The flag doesn't stand for anything racist at all it flew for such a long time before people recently said it was racist.
I don't care if it's racist or not. It's a symbol of treason, and shoud be treated as such.

Different spin i like that but my point stands that its a symbol of something gone.

And the racism it stood for since the Civil War?

Otherwise, enjoy what the EU is turning into, jailing for speech against the government (germany), jailing for calling someone a name (UK) or even having arts censored and made illegal (porn criminalization being proposed in UK), among a buttload of other awful freedom violations in the EU.
Agreed. Of course it was meant to be offensive, despite protestations to the contrary. Being offended however is not assault, offending not a criminal offense, and nor should they be.

Now, the people who threw things, were not in the right. They are adults. They are (presumably) able to control their emotions and not lash out physically - I mean that is one of the things that makes society function; we don't haul off and attack someone whenever they do something we don't like.

That said, I really do hope that no one was seriously charged for anything. I mean come on, a water bottle? As long as it didn't actually hurt anyone, I hope that all that amounted was a talking to. Sometimes I feel like when people get authorities involved, its like trying to draw a foul in basketball - full of theatrical melodramatic displays.

If people could adopt it after the fall of the CSA as a thing of racism why can't it mean what i said?

These people can't possibly be so dumb. Even if they can honestly not feel it's a racist symbol they have to understand how others do, and it's very clear they understand what it means since they chose to target a black neighborhood.
"Hi guys, remember that time we started that war because we wanted to legally own you? We're going to march through your neighborhood because some kid who thinks as we do murdered 9 people in a church. Here is a symbol used by people who hate everyone who looks like you, which we are going to display as we march through your...ow, hey, what are you doing? Don't you care about mah feelin's?!" --anonymous marcher
The plural of anecdote is not "data". It's "Bayesian inference".

because no matter how hard tho try to convince people it means something "positive" (what that is no one can seem to answer), there is the blistering hot truth that is stands for something "negative" both historically AND today.

Already explained that the positive can be for moving forward and accepting that bad things happened but didn't continue as people seen that it was wrong. Why is that so hard to understand. In the past it did yes for a few it does still today. But none the less meanings change its better to use it for something positive than to scowl "sp?" over what it meant in the past. Take the power of it away from that that use it for racism and you leave them with nothing to use as a symbol.

I don't know if you're trolling or naive but you can't just change the meaning of something when there are real thoughts and emotions involved.

How can the meaning of something change when its being used to the same nonsense. You're telling people to move forward and to see it in positive light while its still used in a negative manner.

I disagree with everything the flag stands for and likely every uneducated belief that snaggletooth holds dear, but he has the right to fly his flag.

this is if you assume the bad things are.. what...forgivable? this also assumes that people other then racist and "southern rebels" like to plaster it all over the fucking place. why I'm even trying to explain this simple shit is what I can't understand. ok, again who the fuck is trying to make that flag mean something else, hmm? point them out, go ahead. somethings smells here.
