Are majority of your friends the same ethnicity/skin color as you?

No particular reason for this thread other than all the race BS going on in the U.S. Lately.

So i am curious, are majority of your friends of the same skin color as you?

I got to thinking and realized as a white male, I have literally zero white friends. I have my brother but then my childhood and current friends have always been either black or a few mexican or dominican. I am you could say the "black sheep" of my group of friends or that token white guy. Anyone from similar situations?

Most of my friends are also white. Not that I haven't had multiple black friends (mostly from when I lived in London,) just not really kept in touch with them. I also meet most people online and I most of those are white too.

At school here in Sweden the majority of friends are not white actually.

Friends, as in close friends, yes, all are white.

I know and say hello to many "friends" who are not white.

People I talk to on a regular basis are straight white dudes.

Business wise I'll deal with anyone.

They haven't been the same race. However, when I think about it, a majority of my friends are non-white.

There's only a few exceptions off the top of my head, a few of which post on this site here and again (Crissi, Van, Bones, Tony, etc). A majority of my closest RL friends have been non-white.

I hung out with other mixed people in HS. The exception being a big black guy we used to call Big Dee, but nobody cared for him. All my mentors and closest relationships have been with blacks and latinos post-HS.

Going to school, I had friends of a ton of different ethnicities. I was only friends with two other people who were the same skin color as myself, which is white, and both of them were also of Hebrew descent, as I am. Most of the people I went to school with who weren't white and I was friends with were actually in general a first generation part of their family - their parents were very often foreigners who moved here and raised their kids in the US.

As for my online friends, though, nearly every single one of them is a white person. Even the ones in other countries (the ones who I know what they look like, anyway.) This obviously isn't something one can really control for, so I wonder how that ended up happening...

On the race question; I'm multi-Racial so no.

Caucasian, North American Native with some middle-eastern on Father's side. Hispanic, Greek, Central American Native and Caribbean Islander on my mothers.

Skin tone though, I stay out of the sun mostly so I'm fairly pale, though I'm darker than most tan Caucasians. I keep an fairly even olive tone.

I only really kept in contact with 1 friend after highschool and he's white. My town is like 95% white, if not more though. I could count on one hand the number of black people that went to my school of 1500 kids. I was friends with a few people of different ethnicities in highschool though, i just didn't really keep in contact with them after highschool.

well most of my friends are white

but i am Portuguese, so no. in fact, i really don't even know anything about my culture.

but generally your friends have the same goals as you though and i don't know why people are surprised white people are successful, they have been trained to be successful and they will always attract a group of people who want to be successful to them.

i mean when i hit the pipe im with all kinds of people... but when i offer these people job opportunities to make cash now, they would rather stick to their loser hotel and fast food jobs. a lot of minorities i have come into contact with just don't have what it takes to succeed; they are afraid of real work.

Yes, I hope I did not commit any injustice or hurt someone feeling by the crime of being white male. I think these days it's almost a law-breaking offense.

    Don't be over-dramatic.

The word "friend" has a variety of meanings these days. Are you talking about the classic definition of a deeply bonded friend or the modern concept of casual facebook style friend?

Here in California we have such a broad spectrum of people of different national origins that the concept of ethnicity and skin color becomes fairly muddled. This, I believe, is a good thing since ultimately we are all just one race and the only real differences between us are cultural.

In a place like Sweden you may have a very white majority combined with a small minority of people who are black or brown and easily identified as coming from a specific ethnic group. But here there has been a large amount of inter-marriage (especially among younger generations) and somebody who has a darker skin tone could be a mix of a variety of different ethnic groups.

Mainly your good friends, I wouldn't even consider Facebook acquaintances as friends. Here in the South things are pretty much still segregated in most areas, and for the most part blacks hang out with blacks, whites with whites and so on, sure there are exceptions but that seems to be the majority down here. So I just wanted to see how people associate with other races in different states and countries. I know many EU countries are gonna have major white populations so of course they will likely have mostly friends of the same color.
