Extreme work for transmog

How far would you go to get the transmog you like?

On my only alliance character I really want a Stormherald with my Merciless Gladiator gear mog as an homage to when I played in TBC, but I'd have to unlearn engineering, level up BS, pick up the Stunherald reborn pattern, craft the time gated bars, mine a pile of ore and spend a ton of living steel. Worth it?

I made that exact sword for my wife while it was current content. Then both our accounts expired while it was still in her mailbox. Gone forever. I'll make it again or buy it at some point for the xmog

Can't you level another char and learn BS, it might be faster and cheaper than unlearn ENG and learn it back?

Did that a while ago on priest to get bop tailoring set for mog.

Also before mounts were account wide, I've unlearned alchemy to learn tailoring to get all available carpet mounts, then unlearned tailoring and learned engineering to get engineering mounts, then unlearned engineering and learned alchemy again. All of that to get 100 mounts achievement. Then I did the same on another character.

I dunno, ran Naxx 25 solo a couple times in Cata to get Armageddon. Totes ma goats.

I dropped around 150k on SB and had 3 BSs to make mats to make a full T3 Truesteel set back early on in the expansion because I loved the way it looks.

Leveling a profession doesn't seem like that much, comparatively.

But as mentioned, why not just buy it or make it on an alt?

In order to get Inscribed Serpent Staff for my monk, I leveled new character to lvl 80, learned Inscription, skilled it up to MoP skill and then did 20 daily cooldowns in order to craft it. (the item is account bound, so I couldn't buy it from the AH.) This whole proces took a month and a few days, but it was worth it.

No really though, Xmog has been my favorite addition to the game by a pretty big margin - so I've spent quite a few hours grabbing cool gear/weaps to make the look solid. I'm a real lazy scumbag lately so I just use cm gold sets... > <

I leveled a gnome warrior, just to get 2h lightsaber.. then I faction changed back to horde..
I'm horde and I hated the old gnome models, god they were awful..
