The White House was placed on an apparent lockdown on Tuesday afternoon as President Trump was en route to Arizona for a rally.
Secret Service cleared the White House's North Lawn and sent journalists and construction workers in the area into the West Wing.
Lafayette Square, across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House, was also cleared of pedestrians.
The reason for the apparent lockdown was not immediately clear.
Trump was not at the White House on Tuesday afternoon but was en route to Arizona for a tour of a Border Patrol facility and campaign-style rally.
