Being able to take care of them & loving them.

So being financially stable & actually wanting a child.

Need one other option. " All of the above" which all of those are important. For argument sake, if I am limited to one thing ( which is dumb ), it would be the first one on the list but with a explanation. Respect Others. I respect a yellow jacket nest, because it would be dumb not to. No one but the yellow jacket would have to teach me to respect them. But first thing I will do after finding one when it turns dark, is spray it's ass with hornet killer.

Other people that are already born being able to get along, not fight, share resources and play nice so kids will be able to as well.

Yeah I love that about kids, the audacity to very much challenge authority, I think that is good, I think safety is also allowing them to do that. I think a kid not telling you how much they hate you or how lame you are is probably not an obnoxious and healthy kid.

That is why I think parenting is hard, because you have to be that boundary that pulls them back. I mean they might know everything and want you to blow it out of their ass, but you can handle it, if it means you get them to take an extra few minutes to appreciate their choices, and take the time to make them.

I think it is the older generation's job to be guardians of the younger, despite themselves like the generations did before us when we though we knew everything.

Family and education are what's most important. Jeopardize either and you're setting your child up for a crisis, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Wish people would not have kids till they are able to give them a proper life.
Stop having kids when you are 15 or not financially stable, go work on your self first before having to take care of others.
Stop getting 2/3 kids when you are both working shitty minimum wage jobs.
Stop getting kids when your other half is a criminal piece of shit that will be in jail in a few months.
Stop getting kids when you're not sure what the future for the 2 of you is.
Stop being fucking retarded with having kids, holy shit it pisses me off so much.

    Its so fucking stupid.

Id put that as the nr 1 thing: Being financially stable is the most important thing for raising a child.

    Personally? Not having them.

I think plenty of the poll options fit well in what one should be as a parent. The most important thing BEFORE all that, make sure you can actually afford having a child.

    Probably because:

assuming it's speaking only for the person quoting it
I wrote it, you quoted it.

Also, the, "the kind of person" bit sounds a bit like it's hinting at the "moral obligation to have children" drivel. Obviously, if you don't want to have kids, you shouldn't. That's a pretty simple deduction.

    sigh

Yes I suppose you're right. That is a possible way to choose to interpret my choice of words. Rather asinine and puerile, but sure absolutely, if your objective is to try to be obtuse I sure walked right into that one. Well done to you

You're reading way too much between the lines. If you had bothered to try and understand what I was trying to say (instead of trying to nitpick at my choice of words) it should have been pretty clear that my actual intent was to imply that people who don't want to have kids actually have a moral obligation to not become parents.

Yes, that's exactly the point I was making in the first place
