Why do so many warrior tanks use mongoose on high end weapons rather than bladeward?
Why do so many warrior tanks use mongoose on high end weapons rather than bladeward?
Blade ward's uptime is dismal compared to Mongoose.
Garrosh did nothing wrong.
#MakeTheHordeGreatAgain
The haste provides extra threat, the agility provides extra armor and avoidance.
It's by no means a bad enchant.
That being said, it's not the best one either.
Not to mention the proc on blade ward is subject to much harsher DR.
Cause it's better ??
120agi = armor+dogde and armor is like ten best stat ever
And ye I know it's proc , but still Moongose uptime is higher then Blade Ward one
thanks guys
and what DR?
i hear BD is quite nice for DW tank specs(which almost everyone is using nowadays)

Parry has a more punishing diminishing returns than dodge/agi.Originally Posted by Strykee
Also with blade ward, once you parry it's gone. Mongoose keeps on going regardless if you dodge or not.
Also, with DW he prolly means deep wounds, not dual wield :P
Then again, I see the DW spec benefiting more from mongoose than bladeward in all honesty :\
BD=blood draining he probably meansOriginally Posted by MestHoop

Besides the obvious advantages mongoose has over the parry rating (Agi is probably one of the best stats for warriors, not gonna go into why.) and the obvious uptime difference( 45 % ~ vs 20 % ~) the one big reason for me to chose mongoose over bladeward is the fact that the damageproc from bladeward is a physical attack and can therefore be parried.
Parry haste ftl
You should also know that bladeward is NOT a DPS or THREAT increase over mongoose.
Only two of the twelve ICC bosses have parry haste enabled, and their melee damage isn't a major factor when fighting them. Any boss that would cause problems if they parry hasted doesn't have parry hasting enabled, so why is it a concern?Originally Posted by Bulldozor
Haste provides extra parryhaste, you mean? Threat comes from instant swings, not next-swing casts, other than heroic strike.Originally Posted by phyrix
In my experience, Bladeward just isn't worth the mats. Possibly a weak answer, considering how easy mats are to come by, but it's just lackluster in every way that matters to me as a tank. Mongoose is more 'fun'.
I might go with blood drinking as a tanking enchant in the future, if I ever decide to tank ICC, but BW just fails to impress.

OT : I use Mangoose since Ulduar. It's a good enchant, interesting in most raid encounters, it's only unefficient in heavy magic-damages fights. Otherwise it's straight Armor (not a huge amount), Dodge, so that's 2 tanking stats here, and also Crit + Haste, so 2 aggro stats here. It's simply good, it's not as clumsly as Blade Ward or Blood Draining, it's a reliable enchant.
