    PvP Gear: No Requirements?

    EDIT######################################

Okay, so I've been reading your guys' responses, and some of you have good arguments, some of you TRY to have good arguments and then I click your armory link and realize why you're so in-favor of the change. You're a noob LULZ.

    On a more serious note,
Here's my ***ACTUAL*** concern. It's not about arena being ruined and stuff like that... Although the reason why I said arena will be ruined, will because now noobs can get all the Vicious Gladiator gear simply by doing rated bg's.. You don't NEED to do arena anymore to get geared... That is what I meant by arena will be ruined.

Now the other thing I was about to say, the reason why I'm **ACTUALLY** sad with the changes, is because in cataclysm, if I go into a BG I won't be able to solo 3 or more people anymore. They'll all have amazing gear, and it'll be depressing being killed by 2 noobs when I know I out skill them x10.

Think about it: the reason why BG's are so fun is because you get to go in there and start owning noobs. It's one of my favorite thing to do, making that much of a difference in a BG, simply because of my skill level and the gear i've earned with it.

It had nothing to do with me spamming a rotation on some NPC dragon boss and then doing /roll for some phat-lewtz. It was my skill that earned my gear.

So IDK guys, I'm already aware that some of you casuals/noobs love the incoming changes, but there's other real PvP'ers like me who are watching this game get easier and easier.

I think you're forgetting something. Even if only the top weapon requires a rating.... most of the higher end gear is still going to require boatloads of conquerer points. And the only way to get a fair amount of those is rated BGs and arena. If a casual earns all of their CPoints from daily BGs, it will take them months to get all the gear the high end PvPers have, and by then the next tier will be out.

And why is there no struggle to become good? Bads will still get killed. A lot. Nothing will change.

u remind me of myself and blizzard is fucking up each of their games one by one, i really dont know how shitty companies do this

pvp is about skill shitties will be shitties and good players stay on top only people who complain about this are the ones who need gear to carry them. this changes nothing.

lol this...... if your good at pvp why do you need to out gear someone to prove it? When everybody has equal gear only then can you see if your good imo

If casuals are as bad as you hardcore folks always claim to be, then even in the same gear you should be able to stomp them no problem, get the gear faster than they do, and call it a day? Right? If not, you're only stroking your Epeen and don't deserve the gear yourself. You'll still have an uphill battle to gear yourself out due to the cost of armor, and the cap per week you can get on points. Also, if you read properly, there is a requirement on the heroic-raid level PvP gear, just not the normal raid level PvP gear.

The big question is how much CP will you get from a weeks worth of 2200 arena vs equivalent rated BGs. i hope arena yields more, considering you cant lose rated bg rating...lol

As someone who has a T2 weapon I like the change. I never understood the point in making PvP imbalanced by the accessibility of gear. How is it fair? The powerful continue to stay more powerful as a result of the current system. How are new players or characters able to compete on skill when the system is so based around obtaining the gear.

Your argument is flawed mainly because were essentially going back to how pvp gear was given out in TBC and we actually gained players then so I really don't think Blizz as a whole cares about losing a few people when this could bring alot of players to the game.

P.S. I'm not saying this as a casual pvper whos happy to be getting free epics again I'm saying this as a elitist pver who just knows how trends go in this game.

The basic premise of the discussion is this: should you be rewarded for your hard work learning to PvP by getting items, or should the reward be beating less skilled players? Or both?

    In WotLK, it was both.
In Cataclysm, it is still both, but tilted away from items and toward showing off your skill.

Your wrong sir there is gear that has rating on it but it exactly the same stat-wise as the no rating gear it just looks different the only piece of gear that requires a rating that will have any advantage to your game play is the tier 2 weps and that is it.

stop complaining about things before you see how they pan out on live. over, and over, and over.

you're still going to play, i'm still going to play, everyone agreeing with you in this thread is going to play, and so is everyone complaining about these changes.

I love pvp, but I suck. I'm not really a casual but I play as often as I can. I agree on everything said above, which means nothing to nobody. So, when do I get my Vicious gear?

if it's anything like wrath, likely after your first two tol barads.

All the PvP players say how much more skill it requires to be good at PvP compared to PvE. If that's true an ok or even bad player having the same gear as a good or great player should make no difference. The high end weapons still have a requirment on it and they've brought back a lot of the old school PvP titles in addition to the ones you already have in Arena. The good and great PvP players will get those high end weapons and have the best titles to satisfy their epeen and set them apart from everyone else. PvP is the one aspect of the game that should be based on skill alone, all players getting access to equal gear means you'll have to prove yourself on skill alone.

The ok or bad players can't claim they lost just because someone else had better gear then they did. The higher health pools are supposed to help with this since you're not supposed to be able to nuke players down any more after getting a CC off on a healer. Stun locks are also supposed to be more difficult now to combat that exact same issue. To beat someone you're going to have to be better then them, if that's so upsetting maybe you shouldn't PvP.

Great, now you can't rely on gear to win fights.

There is ppl in WOTLK that can win a duel with Furious set against Wrathfull ... so everything is about skill ...

SKILL = WIN thats all ... so noobs will stay noobs

and just wait till Cata so you can test it ...
I know my english is not that good ... but i don't care as long as you can understand what i have wrote ^_^
