They look a little like vulcanoes but I sure hope that's not what they represent because if they do, they look shite. (That's not a type)

Does anyone have a clue about what these are? And why there is a "skid mark" in between them?

They were two peaks that were sheared off by Deathwing while passing through Badlands. The skidmark is actually a scorchmark left by his body.

They are rock spires that have always been in the Badlands. Deathwing smashed the tops off and cut that deep canyon as he flew though the zone.

before they added the cracked and molten look to the tops it looked like glass thought it was a cool touch.
guess the devs figured the avg wow pop wouldn't get why it was glass so they just made it cracked and molten

When the titan's prisoned the old gods below the ground, they thought that they would make on of them leave his arse above the ground so when the titans returned they would have somewhere to park their astral bike.. Unfortunately deathchin flew past and scraped the skin off the ring piece of said old god (causing him to shit himself and create skidmark canyon)... Thus old god bike rack has been ruined and skidmark canyon created!!

saying that, look at the two trees on the left of the picture, it looks like a couple of hairy things running with their hands up in worship!!
