Index season 3 confirmed. I don't know when, but hopefully it will be better than season 2 either way i'm watching it.

Definitely. Too bad we won't be getting it till probably late 2013 early 2014 by which time if an Index 3 is coming out it would have already started airing. :3

Though they would probably wait for the movie to get out on DVD and be open to more people before continuing. I don't think the movie will be following the main story line, but instead tying up the story with the Level 0 gang they where facing at the end of season 2.

I'm currently watching Fate/Zero, loving every minute.
It is on top of the best animes that I've seen, together with Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Okay, I've got a question. I figure it's just a cultural thing, but I've got to ask.

What is up with the Japanese and romance between cousins? I mean, I don't mean to sound like it's common or anything, but it pops up enough for me to wonder. I ask because I just started watching SankaRea and, once again, we have a female cousin in love with the male lead. At first I think she was just teasing him but by the 7th episode she is looking at Rea as a serious romantic rival. Another example I can think of is Elfen Lied, which is pretty much a harem anime and the most serious competition for Kohta is between Lucy and Yuka who have both pretty much been in love with him since they were all little. And Yuka is his cousin...

And I'm not talking about porn. Porn can do it's own crazy shit and the excuse is always "because PORN".

So what's the deal? Do the Japanese believe that cousins are a distant enough relation for romance to be okay or is this just an attempt to appeal to the incest fetish?

It's not morally wrong or taboo to date and marry first cousins in Japan but it's not very common. It's actually legal in most of the western world too.

Well the thing is that with brother/sister stuff there's usually someone pointing out how wrong it is. But when it comes to cousins the most you usually see is one of them will say once or twice something along the lines of "but we're cousins", and that's pretty much it. I have personally never seen a person of authority look on the relationship with disapproval.

Elfen Lied isn't a good example since everyone who would do so is dead or absent, plus the plot really gets in the way of the relationship escalating to that level anyway. But in SankaRea (mind you, I'm only 7 episodes in) you actually have the protagonist's father suggesting the two get married. He might have been joking, but he might not have...

This is a case of being taught sonething is wrong/off by society that isn't seen as such universally.

Interesting tidbit on the incest thing.

You actually don't really have children with anything wrong with them if you marry and have children with your first cousin. Almost all of the problems are with children from a second cousin.

Anyways, the incest-fetish is kind of like the yaoi-yuri love. "Forbidden romance" and loads of d'aww moments. Same with sisters and brothers.

It's why so many people love Akane in Yuru Yuri. :3

Yuri love is Pure and Innocent.

Plenty of cases where its Perverted and Indecent too though (yes i remodeled your P and I words!).
Also sometimes comes along with severe jealousy or hatred.
Anime like Kodomo no Jikan (kuro), Hayore! Nyaruko-chan (the red haired girl), Koihime Musou (Sousou <3) and others ive probably forgotten :P
Guessing Kannazuki no Miko would also be a good example...

been some time i've posted in here, been busy tho. Watched P4 ep 26 (true end) yesterday, wasn't as good as i expected it would be.
It was missing some things.

If anyone is reading The World God Only Knows manga, All I can say for the last chapter is "Didn't see that coming".

I also watched the first season of Dog Days and caught up in the second season. I thought it was going to be... better than I expected. It's like, just ridiculous,but in the good Sengoku Basara way. Ever taking their personalities into account, it's still hard to think Shinku's friends would so readily accept such a thing. And also proclamations of love just seem thrown in there just to be in there.

I'd probably give it a 6 out of 10. Mostly because of the animal elements. "Huh? Yeah... I like those cat ears, I guess" - Yuri Lowell
