I disliked ep3 and loved the first two. The ending with the golden arrow was absurd, and the doctor seemed far more human than the previous 2 episodes made him seem.

I will say about the only thing I liked in EP3 was when he said "does anyone ever punch you in the face when you say that? Well good thing I'm here not isn't it"

All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side
It's more a case of what you watched first; what you're used to, to draw comparison.
All of those "favourite Doctor" polls seem to suggest, when you actually look at the figures and ask people about their choice on forums, that the majority choose the Doctor they are most familiar with - the "first" one for them. Which is why Matt Smith is so high - Doctor Who gained a lot of international attention in the last few years and some just aren't as familiar with, say, Tennant or Tom Baker. It doesn't say anything other than the shows familiarity during those actors tenures - the public backlash at Tennant leaving the show however, does.
Well, don't get your hopes up for the episodes to start making any more sense. "Listen" is a bit of a thriller but toward the end completely fizzles out into nonsense & actually becomes more confusing rather than clearing up anything. Once we get to "Time Heist" we get a proper Peter Capaldi's Doctor and a great episode, even if it is just a one-and-done.

I quite liked episode 3, and I really liked how the doctor was clashing with Robin Hood. This version of Robin reminded me quite a bit of the Errol Flynn version (Which I imagine was on purpose, given Errols' cameo on the monitor)....a MUCH better version of Robin Hood than the poop TV show the BBC did a few years back.
The next episode seems to involve that teacher guy Pink, if he's going to hang around, based on his appearance in episode 2 I'm quite interested to learn more about him.
I still don't quite get this version of the doctor yet, but he doesn't give me that vibe "you will hate him" that the last doctor gave him me caused me to stop watching til he was gone (Sorry to his fans, but Matt Smith's doctor just...rubbed me the wrong way I guess, I just could NOT like him.)
You must show no mercy, Nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you: For your greatness will silence them all!

In this episode I felt Capaldi's Doctor is an older Tennant's Doctor. The only redeeming feature of the episode.

Not sure. I only found workprint leaks of the three first episodes. If someone wants them they are on that big ol' torrent site with the pirate ship -- but it would be pointless now anyway since those episodes are also available in a real broadcast version. I personally didn't bother watching those since I prefer to watch episodes with actual digital effects in their finished form. But I guess they could be "fun" to watch if you are a real fan and want to see how episodes or effects are made or something like that.
The first workprint leak of the first episode came in the middle of july, while episode two and three came in the middle of august. I have not seen or found any beyond these three. Beyond these I think all that is available are promo and productions photos such as those of Missy and the Doctor with a group of Cybermen walking behind them.

Well, every season has weak episodes.
But really, they destroy a space ship by shooting an arrow at it?
Still, Capaldi is really proving himself regardless.

I understand that, but it did still explode in the end. But what was so special about the gold that by somehow managing to shoot it with an arrow gets the gold into its system so it can fly? It somehow penetrated the hull and went into the engine? Doesn't make sense.
