Never played the games but just from reading about it he sounds like a warrior who uses alchemy to enhance his fighting.

Hunter/death knight/Mage. Runes for magic, he hunts things occasionally and we all know he is an elf. So probably Survival hunter with Death Knight and Mage qualities.
