Swedish military mobilized, "underwater threat" near Stockholm

    http://www.thelocal.se/20141017/swed...-off-stockholm

They've yet to talk about what the situation is about, but I've never seen them mobilize this much since a Soviet submarine almost beached itself decades ago.

Update: Military commanders have stated that it's not a submarine hunt, but what they called " an information operation". That's the best I can translate it to.
Many ships, airplanes and helicopters are involved. Different equipment for both underwater and surface surveillance are being used.
Wether it's a show of readiness and force or if they're really acting on information regarding an intrusion is still unclear.

It's like the Cold War all over again. Russians want to intimidate the EU over Ukraine.

These days, russians being jerks and ignoring boundaries, it's a much more likely situation than underwater giants.

Hey now, you guys have 9 Corvettes capable of ASW and 5 very modern subs.

If it's Russia (and it's either Russia or Godzilla), there is a strong case to be made for Vladimir Putin being a NATO agent.

Like, is he trying to drive non-NATO countries into NATO for mutual defense, on purpose? Or is he just too stupid to know what he's doing.

Ha ha, Team 'Murica is here again.

Funny that when Russia violates borders, every single Swede bitch and moan about it, starting with Bakis then Skroe and the likes gather up. But when US do same shit, they simply tells Sweden to stick their tongues deep into their asses. Do we see "RUSSIAN IS HERE" in news articles? Nope. Case solved.

Or it's simply dick waving and training to show neighbors that "we strong and fast and can react too".

They've been bombing the waters on and off for 1 and a half month now without any indication of an "accual" threat, just the possibility of potential submarines.
Personally, sounds like they wanna use those bombs before the expiration date goes out.

When did the US last violate Swedish borders?

Also, I'm surprised people haven't started to blame the muslims yet.

I know for a fact a Swedish sub was always penetrating US waters for years in the mid 2000s.

I think it is not Denmark this time. I think we haven't had subs since 2004.

Of course it was probably never us but who knows

Edit: More seriously the US have likely violated Swedish waters regularly during the cold war.
