    Foreigner positivity thread

So, to balance the scales abit among the hatred and fear inducing posts about foreigners, asylum seekers or immigrants, let's make a thread about anything positive that happens when we interract with people who could be "categorized" as some of the above!
(I know it's literally effin' stupid to categorize people in the first place, but since it's already happening in a negative way, maybe it can also be done in a positive way?)
Doesn't matter if it's just some small talk that was nice, or a nice gesture, as long as you think it was positive this is the place to share it!

I'll add something when I get the time, writing this took way too much and now I'm in a hurry >.<

    Yeah.

I also have foreigners as neighbours. An Estonian family, they are weird cunts though. An Indian-Lithuanian family - they are nice.

The junior football trainer in my city is from Turkey, second generation, and he seems to be doing a really good job both with the training but also being an inspiring person for the young kids. That's my best example of a positive foreigner.

My local grocery store has 2 refugees working there, nicest people in the store honestly.

I also went to a muslim wedding once, man those things last a long time, but theres some good grub, it was kinda of a culture shock to see grown men dancing together but yeah, cultures differ.

From my experience, most immigrants in America are pretty optimistic and eager to please, they work hard and don't have any of the rotten entitled attitudes you find among most of the locals, and they tend to be very fond and appreciative of American society and culture for all of the opportunities it affords them. This most assuredly does NOT apply to Americans who are living abroad, most of whom couldn't possibly have less regard for local customs and still demand that people go out of their way to accommodate them. Having lived both sides of this I think I'm sufficiently well acquainted to speak on it, though obviously it doesn't apply to everyone.

I am lucky to live in almost 100% homogeneous country and I must say it is an improvement over my multi-ethnic and multi-cultural land of birth.

    Most of them are abroad.

I always thought "Cold as Ice" was a pretty good classic rock song.

There's many but the biggest + in my opinion:
They generally bring their food, and if they open stores, they generally sell food....

Food is yummy. Thanks to my local turks I can get affordable olives, feta and goat cheese. I shop at these shops way more often as in our own supermarkets nowadays

PS it does not help our local cuisine is bad and bland..

Gives a bigger scale when it comes to choosing your partner. More exotic ones too!

    Nice idea for thread.

We got some Sudanese people here, they are working fools, working 3 jobs and going to college too. Their kids will be slackers though if they follow the pattern.

We have Mexican citizens working here legally and illegally. We have a lot of Asians, doctors, IT people, mostly, some own restaurants.
