Would you play an Elder Scrolls-style Blizzard game?

Would you play a first person, single-player RPG game like Skyrim or Fallout only set in the WarCraft or Diablo universe?

Blizzard has demonstrated they are not above/below swiping and adapting the mechanics of other games, but this thread is not intended to be about whether or not Blizzard will or would create such a game... it's about whether you'd play it and why/why not.

yep. skyrim was amazing, and if blizzard could make a game with that kind of freedom with all of the spells and such we see in wow, i'd buy it real fast.

skyrim's combat systems would make being any caster sooooo much more fun. with it being single player they could also go more realistic with the graphics, which would be a massive plus.

Never. Elder Scrolls was probably the worst MMO I beta tested in the past 5 years. Even my roommate hated the shit out of it.

He wasn't talking about the online version. It's implied that he was talking about the morrowind/oblivion/skyrim model.

To the OP, yes, I would. The ES series is great at a lot of things, but they are god awful at creating any type of story that is remotely exciting. Blizzard is much better at this.

Yes I would too. But to be frank, I do love MMO (the mmo part) far more then a single player game. Thats why I hate how WOW is becoming more and more single player minded. Still I'd very much (for a change of pace) play a single player RPG-WoWlike game.

I'd rather have single player warcraft game like Baldur's Gate... maybe even real turn-based combat. I'm drooling on idea to have whole 5-man party under my control, running dungeons, min-maxing, gear should be freely transferable between party members etc.

Yes, of course I would. Why? Because such a game would make less cuts to lore for gameplay reasons and you would not have to endure the bad aspects of the WoW community. Plus, to be able to alter the world in ways you please, to actually see that you make a difference, would be something amazing. Right now, at best, you get some phased zones then nothing.

Yeah. Frankly, if they literally just made Skyrim - same engine, same mechanics, same interface - and put it in the Warcraft universe, I'd pay full price for it.

I would probably at least give anything Blizzard develops a chance. They're a quite unique game studio, with plans of making their own movie studio.

I just love fantasy rpg games and adding blizz quality to one would make it just over the top for me.

But not if it was first person. That change totally ruined the Fallout series for me and has no place in rpgs (imo).

If it has combat and model quality like Darksiders but the open world and detailed combat and magic systems and choice of Elder Scrolls mixed with the high impact solid melee combat and hulking bad ass-ness of Darksiders, which is basically Arthas as War and Illidan as Death.

Only I think every single quest should have at least 3 outcomes and be modeled on the the "Choose Your Own Adventure" novels from the 1980s. <3

Not a fan of the first person melee style gameplay, but if Blizzard was behind it, I would try it for sure.

Also, StarCraft FPS would be fucking sick!
