Heh, I really don't understand the big fuss about the Vindicaar. Being powerful doesn't mean being invincible or impossible to counter. I don't see how any combination of Blood Elf/Nightborne arcanists couldn't come up with something to sabotage it, not to mention it doesn't look to be the best defensible object against swift, agile aerial units and antiaircraft artillery. Saying Blizzard doesn't use it because it's too powerful is just dumb, there is a shit ton of stuff they don't use regarding races' military simply because they either can't implement them handily or simply don't bother to do that.

If the Legion couldn't crack it open, or teleport people aboard, why would Belves/Nightborne?

"They should just drop bombs!" Oculeth. Also the massive quantity of flying patrols 'cause it's a thing that's been a concern since Wrath's Airships came back from the war. On both sides.

"The Vindicaar can destroy entire armies of demons!" Time-Magic Wielding Nightborne with super duper shielding magic that can stop the Legion, or the Sundering, or Deathwing from fucking with a city they're protecting.

Seriously, both sides have got bullshit strong weapons in the new forces they've pulled in. But the Nightborne outnumber the LFD 100 to 1 or more.

You wanna talk about "Instant Win" buttons? Oculeth opens a portal in the Stormwind Embassy with the other end INSIDE and HORIZONTALLY ORIENTED in the bottom of one of the massive Plague Tanks to dump it's entire contents onto the Alliance Leadership. Bam. War over.

Either side's "I Win" button either has counters, or represents an escalation of force that both sides would be DEVASTATED by. Keeping it close to conventional warfare (A War Machine instead of an Azerite Bomb, for example) keeps the arms race a little slower at the start. It makes perfect sense that neither side would just leap to the "Destroy them utterly" side of things. Hell, the Cold War was a thing for -decades-.

The Xenedar did get blown to bits by 1 laser cannon. And I don’t think the Vindicaar is stronger than that.

It actually might be. In Antoran wastes and especially during the raid on Antorus it is under constants bombardment from Legion forces, and the shields held.

And I'm sure not even the coffee maker got fried.

That Azshara cannon has been not used since..well ever, it's practically nonexistent.

Besides, it's not like you could hit a moving airborne target with it.

Nightborne have the largest and most extravagant city in all of WoW. The Army of the Light fits on one spaceship and lost many of their number when their only other spaceship in the fight on Argus went down.

Unless the Vindicaar has some Superman Civilization in a Bottle tech on it, they're smaller in number. By a lot.

Draenei Spacecraft are lorewise, as big as cities or can even carry entire civilizations inside of them. Suramar is just bigger because of gameplay reasons.

It isn't. Sylvanas isn't even in Zandalar.

Group indicates a small number. There were several dozens, if not hundreds of them, and they'd still have lost if it weren't for Nathanos running a diversion while the Horde champion places bombs around the ship.

It would probably have helped if they hadn't blindly attacked an entire fleet all on their own and brought a proper escort. The Skyfire was lost more due to the Alliance leaderships incompetence than Horde action.

Favorable occurrences do not change the fact that swift aerial units have been instrumental in bringing the Skyfire down. And in other circumstances these assaults are planned a bit more in advance, which couldn't be the case here. Genn's attack may have been reckless but also took advantage of a pretty solid surprise effect and the counterattack had to be quickly improvised.

Because Arcane magic tend to be a bit more versatile than Fel, albeit less potent and destructive.

Speaking of which what NPCs will they add to Vol'dun?
I'm hoping for the Reliquary Faction in which they could add some more Blood Elves and other races trying to explore the wonders of Vol'dun...

I mean the truly impressive, large scale magic they used were mostly powered by the Nightwell and local ley lines. They no longer have the Nightwell. They could conceivably do something similar for Silvermoon but in Orgrimmar or UC they would not have a massive pool of magic to work with. Conceivably it should be possible to do something similar with Azerite though

Azerite is pretty much the resource that everyone wants to get. Wouldn't be surprised if during BFA we'd get Azerite forged weapons and armor.

It isn't. Sylvanas isn't even in Zandalar.

I was actually more referring to the burning of Teldrassil, the battle for Lordaeron, the Before the Storm story snippet we've seen, and the fact that Blizzard at Blizzcon explicitly mentioned wanting to follow Sylvanas' as a person while she led her people through the war. That strikes me as her being a character of interest as well as someone whose motivations may well drive a good part of the expansion.

Note that tempest keep was one of the main draenei ships and things like the exodar and vindicar were basically escort style vessels for it.

The Alliance has not one, but two groups of those, one of which the Nightborne are descendants of, while the other is more than twice as old and had good reason to develop anti-teleportation wards.

Incidentally, the latter also built the Vindicaar, which needed said anti-teleportation wards for exactly the reason they had to develop them in the first place...

You forgot the part where we defeated the nightborne at their strongest. With the nightwell and fel. Their numbers are smaller after their civil war and legion. Consider the rebel’s that made up a good chunk of remaining nightborne fit inside a tiny cave with a tree.

Not to mention lightforged survived for thousands of years fighting the legion. The nightborne crumbled in a few short months against us and the legion. They’re defeated and washed up. Fareeya can one shot demon commanders. So yeah. Your argument is moot. Numbers don’t mean power as is the case with the night borne
