While we all wait for the next expansion of World of Warcraft, here is a list of 9 games that are like WoW and you can play them as an alternative to the classic MMORPG.

Over the years we have all tried out and played other MMOs. Some we liked and played for a bit and some we tried and came back to WoW. What games have you played that scratch that World of Warcraft itch?

WoW is an MMORPG. Warframe is a Third Person Shooter. Completely different genres for starters.

Destiny 2 is an FPS. Not an MMORPG.

Most of those games aren't like WoW, some of them aren't even the same genre. ESO is good though, and I can see the appeal of GW2 even if it isn't my cup of tea.

But where the hell is FFXIV on that list? It's probably the game that is most like WoW.

And you managed to leave out a game like FF14 in favor of Destiny 2. Just.. wow.

Anyway, on topic:
GW2 is good for solo play and just having some casual fun, ESO I can really recommend for anyone as it's really easy to get into and lets you start out fresh from level 1 in the newer and more high quality zones (Morrowind and Summerset mainly).

Quite a random list.. Personally when I'm not playing WoW I try to play completely different games.

GW2 can be quite fun though, lots to explore and the world looks amazing.
