FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
It's nice but given how encounters are more or less designed with DBM/BigWigs/WA in mind nowadays it's honestly not enough. He is practically supplying something that many raiders consider a necessity (no I don't want to hear about your edgy guild that refuses to do hc/mythic encounters with add-ons, you're a minority).
The tools supplied in an add-on such as DBM should be toggle-able in the default UI and the guy should be on Blizzard's payroll, and medical plan. PR-stunt for MSI is frankly too small of a gesture.
What? its managed by only 1 person aka him

I only remember that I didn't use DBM in AQ or Naxx but I honestly cant remember if it was continuation or just another addon created from that? Because all the addons were pretty much the same back then. I mean hell there isn't much difference to users in dbm and bigwigs. Both have bars and timers.
That was really nice/thoughtful.
The thing is, Blizz design their game encounters around these addons now. If it all goes tits up, where does that leave the game? many changes would have to be made!
He could probably land a job if he applied. A lot of their engineers got started by writing add-ons.
Though maintaining an add-on is also not quite on par with being part of a team developing a game.

Maybe if you contributed something to the community besides hyperbolic vitriol, people would be inclined to lend a helping hand.
