Because that's what Trump has always done with the press long before he became president, every time someone asked him hard questions that removed him from his fantasy world that he's king midas. He often went above the reporter demanding they should fire him or her and when the agency refused to follow his childish demands he sued them.

I sincerely hope when Trump is out of office, congress puts rules in place that prevents sitting presidents from engaging in anti-democratic speech, such as calling the press "the enemy of the people," inciting violence against political rivals, falsely claiming political opponents are engaging in fraud (such a claim should be thoroughly backed by evidence, which the president would then have to defend before congress, perhaps), and otherwise using racist and fear mongering rhetoric. Call it the Trump Law. And make it actually enforceable, so Supreme Court justices can't claim the president is above the law anymore.
