personally I think it'd be best to give the exotic name as a middle name, that way the child can chose to go by that if they prefer but not be stuck with a potentially embarrassing name

Alot of human/undead/nightelf names work well. Most other races has a certain theme to their names that sounds weird irl :P Gnome names are probobly the absolute weirdest :P

I will name my child Mankrikswife for sure.

I assume there are kids named after thrones characters now so I don't see the issues with wow characters
I will be that guy and say that Deathwing was more of a nickname than his real name :P so I would say Neltharion doesn't sound that bad does it?

I'm cool with it. As long as you really like the name and not do it because you like the game. If you think it's a solid name then go for it, I mean Jaina isn't so bad a name. You can always sort of make variations on them to make them better fitting like Sylvanas could be Sylvana or something.

I think it's wrong to choose a certain name just because you love the material it comes from.

Names are just that, a name.

There is no difference in naming your son Anduin compared to Michael.

I imagine it probably stems from people wanting their kids to be unique snowflakes

i mean it not wrong.. Per say. as long as you pick normal names. As a daycare teacher, i had 2 twins called Jaime and arya.
charcters in wow, atleast from the human and dwarven side have "normal" real names. Jaina is a fine name. Sven, or what have you

Well I gotta name my first kid batman but after that sure maybe.
TO FIX WOW:1. smaller server sizes & server-only LFG awarding satchels, so elite players help others. 2. "helper builds" with loom powers - talent trees so elite players cast buffs on low level players XP gain, HP/mana, regen, damage, etc. 3. "helper ilvl" scoring how much you help others. 4. observer games like in SC to watch/chat (like twitch but with MORE DETAILS & inside the wow UI) 5. guild leagues to compete with rival guilds for progression (with observer mode).6. jackpot world mobs.

    I suppose you're TECHNICALLY correct.

But can you imagine being a teacher and reading the new kids names and coming across 'Deathwing Harris' that's the world we should fight for

Too bad my wife does not like english names or fantasy names. She wants "ordinary" names.
But I do find that some names would really be ok.

    1. Jaina
    2. Tirion (kid would get beat up for being named after "the imp" instead probably, even though you write it differently)
    3. Anduin
    4. Arthas (but I guess this is such a well known name that this won't work)
    5. Moira
    6. Vael (Vaelastrasz, not my own name)

Well that's at least better than Jaime and Cersei
But your duty to Azeroth is not yet complete. More is demanded of you... a price the living cannot pay.

A lot of WoW names are from History/Mythology anyway, or with slight variations.

Uther was the father of King Arthur.
Uther was the Mentor of the future Lich King Arthas etc.

Naming your kids after a movie or a game is cringeworthy to the max and shows you're not responsible enough to have kids in the first place.

Yeah I totally see that naming your kids "l'Oquisha" or something is totally different.
Dude really? I mean I know what you are saying. But how many people are really named after a song, moviestar or bookcharacter (the bible for instance)?
Yeah... millions. So... I guess due to that, those people are not fit to be parents?

Hope this one is not yours... From what I see he's got himself into jail. Not cool life in there, with that name.

Risky move, if the last couple of years are any indication WoW will be considered an embarrassment of a game by the time those kids are grown up.
