I think you've mistaken me for one of the 'whiners'. You see, I'm not one to complain without a cause. I complain when a game sucks, and currently, it does. In the meantime, I've found plenty of games besides WoW that I enjoy playing. You'd be surprised to learn that most games aren't an RNG-fest with time-gating and slow gameplay.

Saw that, very happy to see them going in that direction. To me, it shows that they intend to keep BfA around for a while longer and keep working to get it better, rather than simply jettison it a la WoD.

I always knew they weren't going to cut bait after 8.2 and just leave us raiding Azshara for 14 months.

What I didn't expect was for them to actually push the self-destruct button on Azerite traits and rebuild the system basically from scratch.

I kind of didn't expect them to either, but I suspect to a certain degree they had no choice. If they would have introduced 8.2 with another ring or two of Azerite traits, it would have been a comical mess. As is, I think this is their way of trying to prolong a system that was going to otherwise be an ongoing problem for them throughout BfA.

This way, they can simplify it, make it work for now, then come up with something better to fill that role in 9.0. It also gives them a good chance to perhaps experiment with a new system they might want to before it is fully developed/announced. Solid choice all around IMO.

Azerite armor is about to change a lot in 8.2.

Traits will not require unlocking on azerite peices in this patch, and the heart itself will be getting something more similar to artifact weapon trees.

Yeah I think had the 5th ring been better received they wouldn't have taken this step. Honestly had they implemented that spec traits switch based on what your active spec is this probably never happens.

Though from the little they said about the new system it sounds very much like what Artifacts were, a set of permanent-unlock traits on the necklace itself. Honestly I just hope they finally take the leap and apply this system to more than just "heroic strike does 10% more damage." Introduce a true AA system already!

The only thing I care for this expansion are the allied races that hands down are more interesting than the current roster of races, heck I would have loved some civil war like Al gorefiend proposed some time ago.

I don't think they can afford to tbh. Well, didn't realize it was already the 17th. I guess early January will do. Maybe they can get by with only 1 month ptr since its a minor patch.

Isn't 8.1.5 supposed to bring Crucible of Storms raid? It would only make sense to release it when Dazar'alor LFR has been fully opened for some time.
