Your overall opinion on the new PvP system?

--My aim for this thread isn't to generate hate, but feedback and opinions from dedicated and active PvPers--

So I don't PvP on WoW anymore and haven't for some time now, but after the new PvP system reveal, I'm genuinely curious on the thoughts from the folk who do, and to get their take on it. I secretly went into this expansion reveal with a bit of hope that they would do great things not just for the sake of the system, but for the people that PvP and are/were frustrated with the current iteration as a whole (and I'm glad it got a good deal of focus).

However after seeing and analyzing the content they showed, I feel a bit underwhelmed - not near the depth the PvE side of Legion had gotten, and the features as a whole seemed rather naked and lacking. Although, I do believe there is a lot more they weren't able to cram into their presentation for obvious reasons, and I think you guys will get a great deal of answers on Sunday during their dev talk.

So what about it, guys? I'm extremely interested in hearing what you, the PvP community, has to say and what their opinions are on the system. Good? Bad? Too early to tell?

EDIT: Should of made this a poll in hindsight. Can a mod help a brother out?

I felt for it, and got hyped when I said I wouldn't..
The seperation between PvE and PvP will maybe finally give us balanced PvP, as they will now have the means to tune classes in PvP without ever touching PvE, which I have been waiting for since classic, and was one of the reasons that I quit the game..

I am now looking forward to this, and will probably start again, and roll a Demon Hunter for PvP, and PvE that I have never cared for.

Why do people keep saying this is separating PVP and PVE. It's not. It's just a new PVP progression "tree". Even if they normalize gear, I don't see it making a huge difference. Bad players will still be bad. OP classes will still be OP.

    Seems awesome.

One of my main gripes about PvP has always been "gear" was the primary reward, once I got full geared I got bored fast.

Giving us the chance to prestige and unlock new things to show we put more work into my character than the other guy near me that came back to WoW and got full conq gear with the catchup mechanic is cool.

The seperating of PvE and PvP is Moves in the PvP tree change how PvE moves work in PvP. Literally separating.

They can add wtv they want... until they fix the pvp gap btw horde and alliance.. pvp will be terrible for Horde players.

How will it work for open world pvp? What if you are out questing and get attacked/want to attack the opposing faction? Which talents do you have - does it switch as soon as you enter combat with another player?

The prestige system seems a bit silly... May be good to do during off time of season, but not during. Though as long as they remove the grind from gear, I'll be happy. Oh hey there fully pvp geared alliance raid, I'm gonna poke you with a stick for no damage.

The idea is interesting - having a PvP talent tree, specific for your class, full of nifty abilities that would be retarded in PvE.

How that becomes the "new PvP system" is beyond me, however.

So there's no more gear rewards? No more ladders? No more arena teams?

Arena and Ladders will still exist, its an Honor system.

This is what had me worried a bit. Is cosmetical rewards the only thing Prestige offers, or will there be more? Not that this isn't cool and all, but it just feels a bit hollow compared to how big this is supposedly going to be for PvP.

Well for starters, they are putting everything that is related to PvP (noticed trinket in the video?) where they will be able to tweak certain aspects if someone is too strong, or too weak in PvP, while being stable in PvE.

I love it, finally we have pve separated from pvp. Good luck to holinka trying to balance all those new talents.

Hopefully this means PvP orientated talents will be removed from the PvE Talent tree and make room for a few more talents.

This is probably the aspect of Legion that i'm most curious about, i'm really not sure how it's going to work and i'm eager for more information on Sunday; I just have so many questions.

Also - Eugh, we're gonna have like, 20 talent choices to make when entering an arena match now.

I did notice that, though it's an ability it appears according to that video. Does that mean, then they are changing the Human racial, if they get rid of the need of having a trinket by just giving it to you as an ability?

I think its fantastic! Im a big pvp lover but these past few expansions have been underwhelming to say the least. The pristege system is something I have been waiting for, for a long time. Lately all I did was do pvp enough just to get the RBG mounts, being a mount lover. But with this new system I will finally go back to what I loved, PvPing for progress. The old ranking system in vanilla is something I only barely touched since I started late, near the launch of BC, but I loved the ranks and even love the fact I got a FoS from it. It might not of been a big rank, but I still something I worked for.
Now with the added bonus of cosmetics (which I'm a big fan off, especially since druids got some amazing forms), I think I will be PvPing almost constantly, which I seriously can't wait for. This expansion has me hyped more than what any other expansion has. Thank you blizzard!!!!!!!!! *bear hugs*

I like the idea and for once it'll let you balance around PvP and PvE seperately how it should always have been, the issue is that there will still be a pretty huge gap between level 1 and level 50 players, but looking at how the trees were shown, it's basically a huge amount of talent choices, one of them was the PVP TRINKET, EMFH nerfed? or maybe the other talents on that tier will be godlike and human still gonna wreck house, still too early to tell though

What does worry me though is that there will be an almost essential talent at like level 40 or something that makes the class viable in PvP, and it's pretty much gonna be a grind to be playable. I'm gonna stay skeptical though until they show new battlegrounds, arena rewards, or something, but at least now you want to keep playing rbgs after getting full gear.

Cannot be happier to have it. Finally, no more facing players who outgear you 10-0.
Now its completely reliant on teamwork and player skill.

I'll admit I don't fully understand it. But it may get me to at least try PvP again.
