Do Americans like the Spice Girls?

    Or 'did' to be exact...

I'm not ashamed in saying I like the Spice Girls and still enjoy their songs but I remember in the hayday of their career a few movies and TV made reference on how awful they are and was curious if that was accurate

They were pretty popular among the girls when I was in middle school. Certainly not today, but that's how pop music works.

I didn't, but in general, yes. They were hugely popular here.

They were pretty big in America for a year or two in the 90's. I worked in a toy store (yay teenage job availability) during the Christmas season, and the hot toy that year was the Spice Girls dolls. We had to hide them at the counter and limit each customer to a 2 doll purchase limit. Considering there were 5 (4 maybe?) Spice Girls, that didn't go over well.

They were a female equivalent of the boy bands that were popular back then. Very popular for about 3-4 years.

They're from the 90s. Most Americans try really hard to forget the 90s happened, especially when it comes to music.

um.. I'd say a large amount of Americans actually think music has sucked since the 90's. I mean especially if you are into rock.

To each their own but many people would disagree with you. Its fine not to like something but you still have to be realistic about how its viewed by others.

Seems like a question that would be better answered by Google than by MMO-C
