Chances of a FLAWLESS TBC patch today?

There's always some issue(s), always have been. Even though this is technically 'old content', there's been a lot of updates and modernizations done to TBC, as well as trying to get it to run on a different infrastructure than wasn't present over a decade ago. If I had the option, I would've have selected All of the Above, as the chances of one or more of the polled items occurring is very high.

I mean they will not realize its been extended twice now, for a total of 6 hours. It will not surprise me if its still down tomorrow.

I reckon it's the AH. I can't remember whether or not they paused the AH before previous expansions prepatches but I know they definitely have not done it recently (last few expansions)

It could be a lot of things.

They are snapshotting the entire server data when servers went down. New servers are coming up if people select remain on classic era their data will move to those new servers which now are also going to be connected with other servers, those who select progress to TBC will stay on their current server.

And to do any clone / transfer of a character players mailboxes need to be empty I believe which is why I'm assuming they didn't want AH items going to the mail and closed it days before pre-patch where this choice had to be made, stay, progress or clone.

They used to give gametime days back in 2006/2007 because these type of extended maintenance happened a bit, but that was denial of game service to a singular game back then. They may not do it now because frankly Shadowlands is still their flagship current MMO which service is available.

I mean, this is entirely new territory for them, probably some issue with the clone system. Oh well, we can always jump on Retail and hate ourselves even more

the store actually seems to be the most logical because, as Scelero said, there was NO public testing of it at all. But at the same time it seems the absolute stupidest thing to delay the servers coming up.
