was the penis erect? was it engaging in any sexual act? if not it can be argued as art and not porn and therefore non issue

Even those people that resell the keys.. sell to people who want to play bad enough they'd pay real money. So yeah.. still provides a more motivated pool of testers than random invites.

But fear not... they are doing both.. so there is no downside (unless you are not selected by either). :P

Don't think anyone who pay makes a valuable tester either but well doesn't matter anyways I don't think I'll miss out on any blizzard beta at least for a while longer.

I have seen people say they were selected for beta, but aren't even d/ling it because they don;t want to spoil it.

If someone pays $100+ for a beta key.. I'm pretty sure they REALLY want to play it.. and will.

    Which is more valuable?

Right now, crowd sourcing has many games that are basically pay to beta. :P

So people on the internet abuse a contest hashtag to post inapropriate pictures?

It is a shame that this had to happen but swifty tried to get it off of the stream as soon as he noticed it and then corrected the problem afterwards. People seem to think that everything is 100% full proof but that is not how things work with everything all you can do is learn from mistakes and correct it.
Again, streamers with a brain preview websites etc before they put them on stream, Swifty did not.

I couldn't give a damn about the dick pic. The problem was indirectly selling keys. Here's a vod time link:

    https://www.twitch.tv/swifty/v/76604618?t=50m0s

Starts at 50 mins exactly for those who can't access the time stamp. Person donates $5 with a link to their Twitter post and gets a beta key. I don't care about the contest but shouldn't that be the real outrage?

We can say Blizzard because they gave the candy to a bad person, but there was no indicator he was a bad person to begin with.

The dick is irrelevant. But here is your indicator of him being a bad person.

May the lore be great and the stories interesting. A game without a story, is a game without a soul. Value the lore and it will reward you with fun!

The person decided to donate? If you had any slight idea about Swifty you would understand why he chose that picture. I don't even watch the guy and I know that he is obsessed with Felguards and Waterfalls.

This isn't selling keys it's a donation someone decided to donate to get their twitter noticed faster and that's their choice.

The dick is apparently not irrelevant cause people are screaming felony about him accidentally stumbling on the dick pic. If you read the original battlenet forum post the OP was complaining that he was watching the stream with his kid and now he wants Swifty to go to jail. This is an example of "parenting is never the issue" that we have adopted in today's world.

Edit: Not only is he obsessed with felguards, but this was during his community event which Blizzard supported...

... That was just a guy, who forwarded his tweet to him personally. Swifty had a twitter competition about ingame screenshots, so you can't really say, that just because he donated, he got a key. Swifty thought it was funny, so he gave him a beta key, and apperantly, most of the keys was given randomly to people on twitter, who had made funny pics. There is no selling here, just somebody who forwarded his image, who would proberly have won a key anyway.

we ganked him and his legion of tools during his stream. what an obnoxious stream. but as obnoxious is this faux outrage and virtue signalling in this thread and everywhere else. (SOMEONE THINKS OF MUH CHILDREN!!!!11). it's a dick, get over it.

Point of a competition is everyone being able to participate equally. If people get more attention by donating money then the competition is flawed. Simple as that.

Why would anyone pay for something that will be gone soon, Hell there is a small chance of either an open beta or a larger wave of beta invites going out.

I myself have pretty much given up hope on getting beta. if I'm around and I see a contest, sure I'll enter but I'm no longer going out of my way to find them. I've done most of the testing i wanted to do on the PTR.

I've seen beta keys on sale for $100-$200, who in their right minds would pay for a temporal game?

his obsession is irrelevant. he was taking bribes to look at someones picture faster, regardless of if he liked it, that is corruption of blizzards event for personal gain. how can you defend him for that?

But that indicator was after the keys were given out. What indicator did Blizzard have when deciding who to give keys too? Looks like they just picked popular PvP guys and said here you go. Swifty has been around a while and he's probably borderline a shock jock like Howard Stern, neither are really my cup of tea but they are popular.

Now come next go around if Blizzard goes with Swifty again, then it would be a shame on them.

ITT: People who don't understand that having to post a picture on twitter with a hashtag to begin with is already unequal competition. It's a beta key for a beta that's lasting a little over 1 more month. Half of you would jump on the beta and have a fit over the bugs still present in the beta anyway.

Especially a game, which in a couple of months, are gonna be much cheaper, permanent and in a better condition then it currently is.

Its easy to defend. They guy loves Felgaurds and Waterfalls. The contest rules were that it had to be a picture he liked with the correct hashtag. This picture met all of the stipulations. Right after Swifty is telling people do not put the link to your picture in the donation. He says it over and over again. He has to go through a ton of pictures, the fact that he did one on stream as a good example of what he likes, what he may be looking for isnt all that nefarious.

I mean if you hate Swifty then fine. To say that this disgusts you or that you hate him as a person because of it is just ridiculous. It was a $5 donation for christs sake. Use your fucking brain man...
