MMR system? I'm ending up with/against people playing in master while at the same having bronze people on the teams... Doesn't really seem to be a particularly good mmr system with the spread of the rank players has that I've checked after they play exceptionally bad or good...
Like earlier I ended up against and with this guy for some games: https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/care...aymyname-21424 and he's master. Then we had some bronze players in that same game and some of us who weren't even lvl 25 yet...

Placements puts new players at inflated ratings, causing the "ELO Hell" to range from silver to platinum.
You're never safe from trolls, griefers or those who intentionally toss the game aslong as you don't queue with a premade.
IF this cause blizzard to actually ban more often, and try to handle these griefers better it is very promising.
Last night I had this Mei, stood in spawn whole game, spamming "escort the payload" constantly.
And just shooting out the door. Most likely some automation program to click "F" and right-click mouse.
I inspected his profile, and saw quickly he had less than 2 kills avg a game.
At level 150~ and still "playing" the game just to ruin it for others.
Blizzard really needs to get rid of such players.
Except for those who are of course, "stuck" in that area. I'm platinum but I'm still paired against Gold players, and not strictly
Platinum. So it doesn't work that way at all.
And you're not reading what I'm saying. "Bad gameplay" is not what I'm saying. A person's refusal to swap characters due to
their poor performance is a form of "poor teamwork." Because now they are deliberately throwing the game by being a
deadweight to the team.
Its not nearly as rare as you think it is.
For the record, "git gud" is one of the most condescending and mentally retarded statements anyone can use as a form of argument.
Don't use that crap on me thanks.
That being said, getting to 3k is not feasible without being in a premade.

If you're getting paired with Gold players, you're A> in low Platinum, and B> they're high Gold. So not a lot of difference.
Edit: And this is assuming that by "platinum", you mean you're currently ranked above 2500, rather than just having the platinum tag, which shows the highest you've reached. If you hit 2502 and then fell back to 2300, you'll have the Platinum tag, but you'll be (appropriately) matched with Gold players, because you're ranked Gold.
I get what you're saying. It's just wrong. This isn't something that should be reportable, and it is not "deliberately throwing the game".And you're not reading what I'm saying. "Bad gameplay" is not what I'm saying. A person's refusal to swap characters due to
their poor performance is a form of "poor teamwork." Because now they are deliberately throwing the game by being a
deadweight to the team.
Well I want to play Torbjorn all the time, but I know that there are maps and characters that counter him
very badly, so it would not be wise for me to keep playing a character that won't help me or my team
win now will it? Even though I want to play him.
The problem isn't people playing what they want to play. The problem is people stubbornly playing
only what they want to play, and even when it is not working, they refuse to swap characters,
which is a part of the gameplay of Overwatch : countering other characters when your character
is being countered. When they don't swap characters is when they become a detriment/handicap/
deadweight/holding back/etc. to the team, causing not only themselves to lose, but their team to lose.
So if you happen to be one of those players who plays comp and says "fuck you I'll play who I want, when I
want, and fuck all of you for thinking/saying otherwise", well, maybe you should uninstall. IF you're that type
of person that is.
No it isn't, I can't fathom hwo you wouldn't think it is, as well as how you think it isn't
a deliberate throwing of the game.
Selfishness has no place in a team game. It doesn't. The moment you think it does,
you have no place playing it in the first place.

Because it isn't. It's someone not playing how you want them to play. You aren't the referee, nor are you the team coach. You don't get to demand other people play "your way". Nor is a playing performing poorly a demonstration that they're throwing the match; they may just be having a bad day, or something.
If it's consistent, they'll lose rank, and you won't, and you'll never see them again. If they stay at the same rank as you, then you're not performing any better, and really don't have any room to complain. This is a "problem" that's solved with the ranking system; we don't need reports to add to that.
I agree with everything but this ^ High diamond/low masters and people OTP heroes that get hard countered and refuse to switch. I think that sort of selfish mentality transpires through all the ranks. But your point on the MM being solid holds to me. Their are unlucky streaks and such but your SR will reflect your ability given enough data.
