    What the SV nerfs actually mean

    * Black Arrow base damage has been reduced by 25%, down from 2400 to 1800.
    black arrow damage nerfed by 2-5% (depending on gear)

    * Explosive Shot now deals [ 20.5% of Ranged AP + 340 ] damage, down from [ 27.3% of Ranged AP + 454 damage ]
    explosive shot damage nerfed by 25%

    * Serpent Spread now affects up to 4 targets.
    lose most/all aoe viability (dont really get this change, our aoe wasnt even the best)

    * Into the Wilderness (passive) has been reduced to a 10% Agility increase, down from 15%.
    approximately offset by new meta + kill shot buff


    If you want to see how much this nerf impacts your hunters dps, just find a suitable combat log, and reduce your explosive shot damage by 25% (multiply damage by 0.75) and black arrow damage by 3% (x 0.97). For me, I drop around 2k dps doing this, which translates to a ~8% dps nerf. This puts our dps around the raid average on most fights. However on encounters involving a lot of aoe, we will drop below average on the meters.

    surv needs nerf but those are overnerfs. Black arrow is too weak for 31 point talent even now, let alone after patch. Unless ofc it makes sense for lvl 4 ability deal more dmg during the fight than 31 point talent.

    Our aoe isnt uber, this nerf just proves how retarded GC rly is.

    Explosive shot nerf is justified only if they revert into the wilderness nerf.

    Also i wonder why the hell they buff destro locks... those twats are already uber high on dmg meters, especially with their retarded bane of skills

    Un nerf Into the wilderness. LEAVE BLACK ARROW ALONE, and perhaps tweaking serpent spread instead of making it only apply to 4 targets... It's not even close to the best aoe yet receives the heaviest handed nerf.

    It's enough that dropping it completely in favor of explosive trap is a 50DPS upgrade.

    All they needed to do is make Improved Serpent Sting only apply to the length of Serpent Sting applied. With 1/2 Spread it's a 6 second Serpent Sting, but gets 30% of a full length 15 second Sting. It would be a 60% reduction in ISS damage on AOE, but it would be consistent. What they've done is balance us around 10 targets, where we'll do 40% of what we do on live. That's fine and all, but we'll also do something stupid like 25% of what we do on live.

    AoE: because hitting 2k DPS for each target with a single unholy rune is fair, so they buffed disease damage by 30% to avoid anyone being better then a dk

    anyway not that much difference raid-wide, and not that much even in HC

    this, instead, is just overkill

    just watch DK patch notes, they're only 2-300 DPS below us and they got an overall buff, really, WTF?

    We didn't need a toning down. We lead SOME fights and we get stomped in others.

    What's fucking ridiculous is they can nerf nerf nerf but they can't fix 4 year+ old bugs.

    I'm just tired of the lazy nerfs that are placed on the wrong ability and no actual fixes to the damned class.

    Survival is going to once again scale like complete shit with higher gear and be tossed by the wayside.

    Not trying to be overly dramatic, but Blizzard has a habit of making absolutely stupid changes without listening to the community.

    Did you try using femaledwarf? Fully raid buffed I lose about 1662 DPS, and using Explosive Trap over Black Arrow I saw a DPS upgrade of 310.

    My data was from FD, and was showing just about 50 dps even.

    using explosive trap over black arrow is not realistic in any case that has:

    a) a moving target
    b) another hunter in the group/raid

    This. I can see where they're coming from with some of the changes, but this one didn't make any sense at all. Having said that, I'm pretty sure they don't intend for us to use Explosive Trap over Black Arrow, but the only way to get the message across is to actually create a constructive thread (like that guy made for lock changes) and point out the problem with it.

    You're looking at the wrong end of things. It doesn't matter if it's realistic. It should never even be a thought. In current situations, it's a 200dps loss, after the patch, it's a 50dps gain according to FD. That's a noticeable difference.

    I just think we're being nerfed based on super inflated Crit Rates from Careful Aim. It does have a huge impact on our overall DPS. We do jump out over other classes, solely because of this talent. In a world with a generally low crit rate, we have 80-90% crit rate on our 2nd hardest hitting ability for the first 20% of a fight.
