    Project Cafe

Greetings MMO-Champion, I come bearing news, news of the Project Cafe. though many of these may be rumours, I decided to do a rumour/fact roundup just to wet peoples appetites about Nintendos new console.

Project Cafe has stronger hardware than anything on market right now other than a PC. Its RAM is 50% higher than PS3 and 360 put together.
-Project Cafe's GPU framework makes it more graphically powerful than a PS3.
    -Uses a standard controller interface
-Has had games developing for it for the past couple years
    -Has massive third party support
    -Won't cost more than $400
-Backwards compatible with Wii, Gamecube, virtual console data on an SD card, and accessories
    -Receives automatic updates
    -Utilizes realtime networking between players
    -Fucking SNES colored.
-Nintendo is quoted as saying they are moving away from casual markets with the system
-Modular codeform that allows entire game engines to be inserted, fixed, and updated post release
    -Incredibly user friendly SDK
-The only next gen console for the next few years
-Features daily new content updates from Nintendo
-Utilizes networking hardware and software from a third party company specializing in only that

    A list of rumoured games.
    http://nintendoscene.com/2011/05/15/...ed-games-list/

Some talk about how the hardware might be.
    http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/wii/2...urs-analysis/1

    Some more rumour talk
    http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/game...-secret-video/

So talk, discuss and wonder and how Nintendo actually listened to their hardcore fans and have started making a console that will appeal to those who like pads and not waggle sticks.

indeed, Nintendo have spent alot of money on this project, basically using the sales of the Wii to fund this labour of love game console.

No new Super Smash Bros. equals no Project Cafe for me
    New Class: Runemaster
    New Alliance Race: Furbolg
    New Horde Race: None yet.
    New Zones: None yet.
New Battleground: Ruins of Eldre'Thalas, Silithus Quarry, Taurajo Fields, Sorrows Training Grounds
    New Dungeon: None yet.

    Sounds good.
I'm curious as to what's meant by: "Nintendo is quoted as saying they are moving away from casual markets with the system" though, does that mean they just won't make crap games like cooking mama and stuff like that? Or does it mean that all of the games will be super-duper hardcore?

Don't get me wrong. I like my games, but I want them to stay as a hobby. I've never been interested in hardcore gaming. That said, if it means we get more games like Halo, Gears of War and less of the ones aimed at the 3-13 market, i'l be happy.

finally I can return to Nintendo! I've been on the PS3 so long, didn't even bother with the Wii. If this console turns out to be good and can actually compete with the PS4 and the next Xbox, I may think about returning to Nintendo!

If those games actually do come out I'll be so excited! MGS: Rising, Dead Space spin off, new game by Rockstar...

Finally, nintendo decide to cater to gamers once more other than 5 year old kids.

Thank you Nintendo! Well, that's if this is all true. But if it is, thank you Nintendo!

It basically means they are going more back to tradition games instead of sports or fitness games, if you owned a Gamecube, basically it'll be that with alot mroe third party support, especially Capcom whom are supposedly doing alot on the new console, but don't take this for fact, these are all RUMOURS, but many of them (like the speccs in my top post) are pretty much confirmed due to Patents and sales of the tech to nintendo.

Well we'll know more in about a week.
The E3 is 7-9 june and the new console will probably be presented around that time (maybe 1-2 days before the E3).

The rumour that I'm most interested in is the fact that the touchscreen (on the controller) might have tactile feedback.

Just 1 more week till we know more

The feedback screen was in some Patents a few months ago by Nintendo I belive. Basically people are finding out about it the same way we did about Blizzard and their new projects, through patents!

I'm pleased about that then. Looking forward to seeing more at E3. If those rumours are true then it sounds like it's going to be a great system!

If that list turns out to be true then they might actually compete in the market. But for now I can't make a judgement call on rumors.

Just a warning hardware wise, the pads used on the console look VERY VERY high tech, practically DSes, do not expect them to be cheap.

Aren't they already on the top of the console market?

I hate Nintendo I haven't bought one of their consoles since the 64 because of the games they release,I hope they will aim this console to not only Nintendo fans but gamers in general

They should basically have their Wii side of the console for the people who love that then the ''serious gaming'' side that releases all the major titles we see on the pc/ps3/360...with their hi def plans and a much more powerful system than the other consoles it couldn't fail people would get the best of both worlds.

I had the thought the other day that if it's graphics is that good, could we maybe see a Zelda that is on the graphical levels(or better) of The Witcher. /drool

They already are on top of the market. They are employing the common strategy of 'When ahead, Get further ahead'.

    In selling consoles, sure.

This would put them in line as a serious competitor and looked at as such. I really dont have the steam to try and argue this point. If you want to think Nintendo is the best console out there then you go for it.
