    In the sands.. [Closed SRP!]

The sun was baking the sands of Uldum with a strenght that forced even the scorpions to dig down where the sunrays couldn't reach them. Every single cloud on the sky above Uldum had disappeared in the heat long ago, leaving only a beautiful lightblue color. Looking deep into the desert, the heat was bending air enough to make mirages appear wherever a small bulk of sand made such phenomena possible. The wind seemed to be barely blowing at all, yet it remained strong enough to move some sand around - almost playfully. All in all, this was a rather exhausting morning in Uldum. Especially if you had any plans of travelling the desert.

The ruins of Ammon, Archaeology digsite of the Tol'vir, meeting point for the expedition. The first thing that would reveal the location of these ancient ruins, were four huge stone obelisks standing at the outside corners of the ruins. These Obelisks were in-graved with the history of the ruins, yet they held no information that was not already common knowledge. In the inner-rim of the ruins, shaped stone pillars were once supposedly holding a roof of the inner sanctum, serving as a place for the Tol'vir to come and show their respect towards their creators. Nowadays only the pillars remained standing, as no sign of the roof were apparent. This inner circle would be where the group would be assembling before traversing into the desert beyond them...

Welcome to this RP, which - if successful - will be the first in a series of adventure RP's. I plan on it being rather short, as to make the flow feel better and not overly exhaust people in the process. Below you will find the order in which you are supposed to be posting. Story posts may come at any one time I find it most convenient. Take full note of the rules posted in the signup thread, as breaking these will have consequenses. Enjoy the roleplay and have fun!

Post order, from first to last. Stick to this at all times, no cutting corners!
    Saerwen - Thorn.
    Khorianas - Khemes.
    Dubbelbasse - Shujaa.
    Kazat - Ayuk.
    Nonfictionless - Kevin.
    Jackthegreat - Zook.
    Vadoor - Feanor.
    Sora Dawnblade. - Lunai.

Khemes slowly trotted along in the circle between the Obelisks. The shutters of his jackal mask were nearly closed. The bright sun was still painful for him to be in, but it was no use. He had examined the obelisk carvings countless times but he did find no real clue as to how they would access the ruins. Khemes playfully spun his dual edged spear around himself, to pass time until those adventurers arrived.

Shujaa's feet were hurting. The sun had made the sand too hot to walk on with bare feet, but the troll had of course not been aware. This was the first time she was in a desert like this, and she had never been able to imagine the climate to be this tough on her. If Shujaa would have been completely honest at this moment, she wasn't exactly sure if she was going the right way. She hadn't gotten that worried yet, but it did make her a bit uncomfortable. Uldum hadn't been treating her well so far, and she couldn't wait to get this over with and collect her (hopefully) enormous reward for the mission. It did sound like it would pay very well, and in the end that was all that mattered.

Shujaa looked down at her companion, Thorn. Just then it seemed like they both saw it. Four giant stone obelisks and a Tol'vir among them, moving around between them in a restless manner. Shujaa grabbed Thorn's hand and pulled the undead with her as she started running and waving her spare arm in the air above her head.

"Ey, ey dere! Ya be Khemes?! Shujaa an' Thorn here, we made it!"

A large black raven quietly landed on one of the ruins, its black wings was swiftly placed on its sides. The ravens yellow eyes shimmered in the light. The raven spotted the four legged cat creature walking around. Most be one of those Tol'vir if I aint mistaken The ravens plumage suddenly started to change, it's black feathers turned into a brighter red colour and it shrunk. A bird creature without proper wings had now taken it's place, with dark red feathers but still the constant moving yellow eyes. Ayuk was wearing his usual large black coat that covered his whole body and now reached up and pulled on the hood. In his claws he held a large steel staff with two blades at it's tip sticking out as on an axe. With a great leap Ayuk jumped down from the ruin and landed on his feet. The four legged cat creature had now been joined by another two, a troll and something else. Ayuk was not entirely sure what it was. Ayuk started walking towards the cat his head moving from side to side in search for any threats.
He heard how the troll yelled to the cat creature asking if it was Khemes. So they are allso here for the same purpose. He closed in on the cat creature and announced his name and purpose out loud to him. My name is Ayuk, I have come to join this... adventure I guess you could call it.

Kevin approached the obelisks and saw the assortment of adventures waiting around for something, most likely their host. Still off from a distance he decided to show off a bit like he normally does and blinked into the middle of the group spreading some sand up and letting off some frost to cool the area. "Hello all the name's Brenshaw but you all may call me Kevin." He moved off to one pillar and conjured a jug of ice water and sat down, leaning against the stone. This heat wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so dry...

"One, Two, Three, Four." Zook counted "Yep, this is the place!" He was flying in his Turbo Charged Copter across the sands of Uldum, his destination slowly getting closer. "I should probably put her down here and walk the rest of the way I think." He made his descent to the ground as he looked through his goggles off into the distance. Underneath the obelisks stood five people, or what looked like people. "Ah it seems I'm not the first to arrive. Excellent" he smiled. Zook touched down his copter and with a flick of a switch the copter shrunk down to the size of a button. Zook reached down and picked it up and dropped it into his pocket. "Wow, it sure it hot out here, I must have something for this..." He stopped and thought a moment. "Ah yes!" He pressed a button on his belt. "Ah much better."

When Zook arrived at the obelisks, he waved a hello to the group that was gathered. "Hello everyone, I'm Zook and I'm a Tinkerer." he smiled his huge bearded smile.

Feanor kept his worn black cloak around him as he made towards the obelisks, and the meeting point of the group. The Uldum sun had been unforgiving, and the past few days as he trekked through the desert the sun had been the least of his worries. Less than a fortnight ago he had slept under the bright Uldum stars, feeling safe in his distance from civilization. The battlemage had built a meager fire to warm himself from the cold winds of the night, and to have a warm meal void of using magic. Feanor had not sat long at his fire before wandering bandits had spied the light and approached with cruel intentions. They had counted as a dozen in all. The bandits had thought to sneak up on the mage, but once they found it was only Feanor the came forth in confidence with blades drawn. They demanded everything he had or his life, but of course after the bandits had what they wanted they were going to kill him as well. So, Feanor stood and offered one of them a piece of hard bread, and as the bandit reached to snatch the food from his victim, his hand was cut from his wrist in a movement too fast for his brethren to follow. The bandit screamed in pain and his fellow men roared in rage and charged at the mage, some on camel back, others on foot. It had taken only a few moments and Feanor was once again sitting next to his small fire eating, with the corpses of the bandits strewn around him.
Aside from curious wild animals, Feanor's trip after the bandits had been quite uneventful. And so, he had trekked across the desert with his worn cloak to shield him from the harsh rays of the sun.
"Ah, my journey is almost over." He said as he entered the ancient ruins. He crossed over ancient walkways and through fallen ruins as me made his way towards the obelisks on the other side. As he neared them, he spied a group of adventurers and made his way towards gathering. As he neared the group he pulled back his worn hood revealing his highborn heritage. His hair shone of a golden color and his eyes matched his hair in a powerful golden glow. The rest of the mage was concealed behind his worn cloak. He looked towards Khemes.
"You must be the spear of Osiris," the mage said with a satisfied look on his face.

To any watching, through the heat shimmer came the image of a palanquin, borne by six tanned humans of equal height and stature, to ensure a smooth ride for the occupant. At the rear came one more man leading a pack camel laden with travel cases and a large tent folded and stowed. As the palanquin drew nearer, a slim hand gracefully drew the curtain aside to reveal a woman dressed in billowy white and blue pants, with a short blue and gold top barely covering her buxom chest. Her midnight blue hair combed to a silky smoothness, hanging loose over her shoulders. She perused those assembled as she approached. Once drawn up before the group, the bearers lowered the palanquin to the sand and Lunai stepped out before the group. She dismissed her bearers with a flick of her hand and they lifted the Palanquin again to head back to Ramkahen. She took the reins of her pack camel and led it to the shelter of an obelisk before returning to the group."Greetings and salutations friends, hopefully I can make our trek a little easier for you, if you want anything, anything at all, all you need do is ask." She said, glancing about with lowered eyes through her long eyelashes.

The tiny undead Thorn was feeling strange. The Forsaken resembling construct was looking around. Sand, sand and more sand. Moving around in this was frustrating, to say the least. Those annoying little corns seemed to be getting in everywhere! The heat wasn't affecting Thorn the same way it was the still living, yet she felt uneasy in the heat. It was obvious to Shujaa that Thorn was moving a lot slower than she would usually do. Also, this adventure Shujaa had signed them up for was unlike anything Thorn had ever tried before. The undead was used to earning cash by stabbing. Shujaa had said that this would have nothing to do with stabbing. Frankly, Thorn was quite confused. What would anyone be wanting in this huge sandbox..? Moving around in the sand was also quite heavy for the tiny thing, so too far travel would likely exhaust her before..

..And then curiousity took over, as Thorn's emerald tinted engineering goggles caught glimpse of the cat-man. Before Shujaa had any chance to restrain Thorn, the construct had moved ahead to stand almost in front of Khemes, examining the cat-man closely. For a second it almost seemed as if Thorn was going to stretch out her hand to give Khemes a poke, yet at the same time other adventurers seemed to be arriving from left and right. Startled by the sudden rise in group members, Thorn quickly found her place at Shujaa's side again, eyeing the arrivals one by one. It was obvious to everyone that Thorn was holding her guard up, not trusting anyone. Looking at Thorn would sorts of resemble an animal, weary of the sudden company it had gotten. Thorn clenched her hand around Shujaa's arm, letting Shujaa know that she wasn't all happy about the situation at hand.

Khemes' attention wasn't drawn by many of the adventurers. Since the troubles in Ramkahen he had seen plenty of adventurers, And he was taught about the mortal races of Azeroth long ago. The only one that really intrigued him was the bird man. But his curiosity would have to wait since he found another interesting thing on one of the pillars. He was busy examining the Hieroglyphs once again as all the adventurers adressed him. If he hadn't worn his mask, the adventurers would have spottet a smile on his face. He turned around and saw the group watching him. Then the tol'vir rose his voice.

"Yes I am Khemes, and all of you are here for the exploration of this ruins. We promised riches, but you should know that as it seems this structure expends further, and is marked as a guarded structure. And the Titans tended to guard their structures very well. Some of this traps you won't overcome by swords and sorcery. And the treasures you find will be property of King Pharios of Ramkahen, but you will be compensated in gold for their discovery. If anybody disagrees with these terms, they may be on their way. The others may introduce themselves as we venture north, where I suspect the rest of these ruins to be hidden in the sand."

Khemes gestured north and checked his provisions once again, waiting for the adventurers to continue the journey.

Shujaa had eyed the rest of the party as they had arrived, for once not saying much. It was certainly a good mix of people, but the one that fascinated Shujaa the most was the Tol'vir. She had never seen one before up until a few days ago, and their catlike appearance was much to her liking. She watched Khemes and wondered to herself how much the Tol'vir did have in common with other cats. Shujaa guessed that whatever traits Khemes might share with a cat, it wasn't going to be one of Shujaa's.

The troll turned her attention to Thorn, trying to keep her from staring too much at Khemes. Shujaa picked up Thorn as they started walking, keeping her in her arms to allow her to rest. She was already moving slowly, and she did not want the rest of the group to have to keep Thorn's pace right now. Shujaa stroked a bit of hair off Thorn's face and whispered to her gently in her own native tongue, and clearly as she could. She had managed to teach Thorn a bit of Zandali.

"What do you think, hun? Are we going to be rich after this?"

Ayuk joined the group as they started to travel towards the north with Khemes leading them. I have no need for their shiny metal, but you never know what you might find in those ruins. Ayuk examined his new companions, the troll seemed cheerful and optimistic but the smaller creature that accompanied her seemed a bit more... odd... Ayuk wasn't sure on what kind of creature it was, but it seemed interesting. The three humans didn't interest Ayuk so much, he had seen many of their kind. The small creature, named Zook on the other hand was very interesting for Ayuk. He had taken notice of the machine that Zook had traveled in and was curious on what other things the gnome knew.

Ayuk adjusted his pace so he got next to the gnome, his yellow eyes sweapt across the small gnome, taking in every little detail. Your name was Zook, right? My name is Ayuk, I couldn't help but notice your machine that you traveled in. Might I ask how you built it? And how does it work? The interest in his voice was sincere, Ayuk had a thirst for all kinds of knowledge.

Kevin lept to his feet and walked over towards the elf, of which he wasn't quiet sure. He grabbed some sand and in a flash of twisting fire turned it into a glass rose and handed it to the lady. <"Anything you say?> < I'll keep that in mind,"> Kevin said first in thalassian then darnassian. He winked and then turned towards Khemes readjusting his pack. "Gold is fine but it's the adventure where the true treasure lies. Let's get going shall we?" He dropped his jug as it vanished before it could touch the sand. Ofcourse whatever scrolls I can steal will be alright too, he thought with a smirk on his face.

As Zook began walking where directed, he was addressed by the bird-looking creature. He introduced himself as Ayuk. "It's nice to meet you Ayuk, as for my copter, it's a very simple feat of engineering, it's mainly constructed out of adamantite, giving it a strong outer frame but it's still light enough to achieve lift. It's powered by a Korium power core, which I personally feel, could be stronger, but that's what this particular model was constructed with, I just haven't quite found a better power core." Zook frowned. "A bunch of stabilizers, to make for a smooth ride, lots of internal wiring, mine has been customized over the years to have my personal touch to it, with things like a cookie dispenser, I also have a built in Poultryizer incase I ever find myself under attack, and plenty more. Oh yes and Pink Fuzzy Dice." Zook laughed "Yes, those are essential." He looked up at Ayuk. "Oh I'm sorry, when people ask me about my gadgets I tend to get carried away! Also, I was only kidding about the fuzzy dice." Zook laughed again.

"Quite an interesting cast of characters we have here isn't it, yourself included."

Feanor nodded after Khemes spoke, then remained silent. The rest of the adventurers introduced themselves to one another but the battlemage remained silent, and pulled his hood back over his head. "As soon as we get out of the sun the better," he thought to himself.

Lunai took the glass rose and twirled it around with her fingers. She understood both things he said to her and smiled sweetly in response. "How beautiful. I'm sure I'll find a way to give you some beauty in return." She purred. Looking around at the others, she began adjusting the packs to allow her room to mount. Once atop the beast, she started moving with the group in the direction Khemes indicated.

Thorn made a shrugging gesture at Shujaa, embracing the troll so she'd be easier to carry. Thorn wasn't very huge, even for an undead, and Shujaa was quite enough troll to carry her around without any much trouble at all. Thorn really had no clue if this adventure of Shujaa's would bring any riches at all. To Thorn, it only looked like it would bring sand. A lot of sand...

The mood of the group seemed to be, if not positive - at least sufficient for this sort of exploration. The group moved out from the ruins of Ammon together in a minor caravan. The introductions were happening slowly, as the ruins of Ammon was eaten by the horizon behind them. Introductions and introductions, at least they now knew each others names. A good starting point.. A mild wind seemed to have taken a playful grip around the group, quickly drying the lips of the adventurers, almost making the desert feel like a huge outdoors oven. Sweat was dripping down the different faces, as their muscles trembled from the heat. Khemes assured them that they'd be able to rest once they reached the digsite. A promise most of the adventurers seemed content with.

The sense of time in the sands of Uldum was almost non existant, and the road ahead of them seemed to just continue. It could easily feel as if they weren't actually getting anywhere, and that fact was upsetting a few members of the group. Everything looked the same - the devils sandbox. As the frustration was starting to kick in, and thoughts of uttering word of the frustation, the winds of Uldum suddenly picked up their pace at an almost violent rate.

Sand was being dragged off the ground and thrown into the air, making it almost impossible to see anything. The wind hissed at the adventurers, almost as if it was a living entity in itself. It was quenchening any attempt at casting spells, muting any attempt of communication. The desert storm, the centre of the storm itself. Khemes attempted to get the group together, that they might find shelter as a group, till the desert storm would calm its rage. The winds however had other plans, and soon it became apparent to the group - they would all be drowned in the sands of Uldum, there would be no escape.........!

Darkness, utter and complete darkness. The tiny undead had been halfway stuck in a pile of sand, in what appeared to be a small room, only sizeable enough to be a huge elevator. Thorn had been lucky enough to be able to dig herself free from the sand, that she may move around. The other adventurers had ended up there too, every single one of them. All of the others had been buried under the sand in the room and would've suffocated had Thorn not managed to dig them up. Yet so, she had been able to dig them out - all of them still breathing. Thorn considered the fact that they weren't buried and unable to move lucky in itself. That they were all still breathing was more of a miracle than luck though. Now the adventurers lay scattered across the floor in the tiny room, at the exact places Thorn had digged them loose.
Thorn wasn't strong enough to move them aroudn though, so they'd have to wake up wherever they happened to have ended. Thorn still had work cut out for her. Searching with what almost resembled panic, Thorn wanted to find a way out of the small chamber. It quickly became apparent though, that if there was a way out of the room - it was now buried in the sand. Thorn could only wait for the other adventurers to wake up - one by one - till they could help her search for a way out. Even so, they would have to hurry up. Even now more sand was falling down into their chamber from above. If they took too long, they'd all be buried anyway.

Thorn snook over to Shujaa, curling up besides her. Thorn was actually scared. This wasn't a very nice way of going, if you absolutely had to go...

As soon as the storm got stronger Khemes closed the shutters of his mask. While the sharp sand was lashing against his chest and arms Khemes tried to round up the group but it was of no use. They were all drowned by the sands within minutes. Khemes calmed his breath, as the hollow space in his mask gave him a bit of a spce to breathe. but even with this aid he was not able to keep completely conscious. As his mind drifted away he felt digging above him. Thorn had managed to not be burried. She dug out Khemes and he nodded in appreciation at the construct since he didn't know how to thank her otherwise. Khemes opened the shutters of his mask completely, but he only was able to see rough outlines in the utter darkness. That meant that the others were not seeing a thing. But what the Tol'vir heard was more alarming. He heard the permanent trickling of sand. That meant their time was running out. Khemes started to wake the adventurers. As he woke them one by one he told them the situation.

"We are buried in a room. Air running out. no fire, breathe calmly."

The sand devoured the group so sudden, and Shujaa had squeezed Thorn tightly against herself to protect her from the sandstorm. But, the next thing Shujaa knew, she felt Thorn creeping up close to her inside a sand covered, pitch black room. What was going on, what had happened? Shujaa felt Khemes shaking her slightly, and Shujaa got up at once, dragging Thorn to her feet with her. The room was so dark, there was no chance for her to see anything at all. Shujaa stumbled in the darkness to get a feel for the room, but she only managed to bump into something big, warm, covered with feathers. Oh, the arakkoa..

"Uuuhhh, Khemes? Can ya get us out, please? Wat happened?"

Ayuk was awaken from his sleep by something bumping into him. As he opened his eyes he found himself in a dark room, he could see the shady figures of his fellow companions around him. What had bumped into him was the troll, apperently she had worse sight in darkness then him. He heard how the Khemes shouted about the air. Watch the feathers troll... they are priceless. He said a bit annoyed to the troll. Anything I can help with Khemes? He asked, forcing his voice to reveal nothing of his own panic. No! not another... not another prison! The very thought made him shiver in fear.
