Void Storage and Transmogrifier - Patch 4.3 Teasing?
A teaser on the official Warcraft Facebook Page hints at two new types of NPCs coming in a future patch, most likely Patch 4.3: the Transmogrifier and Void Storage NPCs.

"Transmogrifier" seems to hint at a way to change the appearance of something, the first thing coming to my mind is either a way to change the look of your items (it was experimented in the past with things such as Darkspear Overcloak but dropped later). I guess it could also be a way to change facial/body features on characters.

The "Void Storage" is probably ... well, another kind of storage? Or a high-tech magic trash can.

Have the same people do everything - not Blizzard.

I am certain you have some special insight into what this really is despite noone else in here really being certain. *Sarcasm off*

How much will we need to pay to unlock those this time?

I hope not, that would take half the fun out of this feature. I totally plan on pummeling people with a fish in arena while wearing my pink lunar festival dress.

It may work somewhat like reforging, where the stats of one item are converted to those of a second item completely. So what ends up happening is you have one item that looks really cool but has crappy stats and a second item that has awesome stats but a crappy graphic, so, you basically get to convert the stats on the cool looking one to the stats of the crappy looking one.

As item models in WoW are basically like a single large sticker you wrap around a frame, I highly doubt you will be able to customize individual colors on a piece of armor. That would require re-creating every single item in the game with a different skin/model system. Swapping item stats back and worth is a more of a character database change that only changes numbers much like the current reforging system.

So in essence, it will be a complete stat reforger onto a different item model, but not a truly, fully customizable system.
No, what you are saying here is, I can take almost any piece of gear I want from Firelands and turn it into w/e I want. Not going to happen.

PvP gear cannot be Transmogrified. Simple fix.

I guess I just don't have that common pvp mentality. I see the squishies but I dont specifically go after them unless they're an immediate threat. I'd have a lot more fun in an unexpected 90second battle with a well geared ret paladin that almost makes you want to /bow to the dude afterwards then I would running around picking off the new PVPers. I'm not in it for easy wins.

    Thanks for the clarification, though.

The change however could only appear on your screen, the other would still see you in your 370+ epics.

Not a bad idea, but IDK why we'd have to use an in-game service to change to the new model.

That would be a bit of a buzzkill, what with this feature being what RPers have been wanting for a long long time.

    My guess:
Storage: Will hold all our items that you wish to use as cosmetic.
The Transmogrifiererererer: Will allow you to pick items and change the look of your gear to those saved in storage.

For example T2 Pally set would be but into storage and saved there (This will also allow for many many items saved in storage and not in your bags/bank). Then going to the Transmogrifiererererer would allow me to change my look. With blizz putting some cool items sets in there store this will be a win/win.

Guess is a guess tho (I can dream!)

Unlikely it'd be that I agree, however you can bet your life on it that if they updated the old races models, you'd get people wanting the original versions over the new ones.

I figured void storage might be related to something they mentioned earlier about storage for tabards and old tier sets that clutter up storage slots.

My guess is the arcane reforger here is the equipment appearance modifier the community has been begging for.

I'm hoping the transmogrifier is actually some kind of temporary de-leveling feature, but I doubt it.

really depends on the class you play. For some classes another class in shitty gear can kill you because of their class mechanics.
as warlock i often end up under 50% hp bcs some rogue or dk in shitty gear tries to kill me. While they fail due their bad gear, they can get me low enough to let any decent geared and skilled person to kill me.
if i play on my dk ( blood in bg ) i dont gife a crap about a shitty geared person hitting me because it just feels like they tickling me.

What if these are just Ethereal versions of Banker, Barber, and Reforger in some kind of new Consortium city we'll be visiting.
