Comic: Fall of King's Crest

Well shit. It really does look like the Raven Lord is the villain. What a dick.

I really hope and keep my fingers crossed for Imperius fighting Deathwing in the cinematic at Blizzcon. Deathwing is drawn to the Raven Lords side, but not for allying himself and being a servant of the Raven Lord. But to steal and the Nexus singularities for himself!

It would be the best thing happening Hots this far! Please let Orphea be a regular reveal, maybe for October if it's not a OW hero.

I wish they'd stop trying to shove a story into this game. It just doesn't belong. I'm also worried Blizzard will prioritize making these characters playable over actual Blizzard characters people been asking for.

Well then, that went well (for the Raven Lord).

Pretty confident this blizzcons cinematic is going to be Orphea's introduction to the nexus as a playable hero, its very evident this entire story has been building up to nexus exclusive characters.

Also, god damn the Raven Lord is now topping even Arthas on the level of *badass villian*.

Whoever is getting paid to write this fucking awful story shit needs to be fired. From a cannon.

More importantly, this is probably the best writing ive seen from blizzard in a long time, storytelling wise, the antagonist actually wins, does something genuinley evil and actually gets away with it and this is bad writing?

Bad writing would have been the raven lord being defeated before he even did anything genuinley noteworthy.

Frankly, this is quality, something ive not seen blizzard do in a while, you want to see bad writing? Take one good look at Destiny 2.

I was gonna say, that's an awful lot of vitriol towards something that's only slightly more than an excuse plot.

I can't help wondering if he made a mistake and thought he was on the WoW Lore section of the forums.

Personally, my only continued issue with the comics is the concern that they are introducing original characters they may intend to add before other Blizzard characters that fans have long been waiting for.

The Dark Nexus Alarak skin description is: "In the forgotten darkness beyond reality, a new avatar of primordial power has been forged. This dark mirror of Alarak's malice and sadism seethes with contempt toward all of existence... including its own."

So yeah, they're manifestations of the Nexus' power, based on existing entities.

Phantom Knight Zarya - The Black Knights have served as the mercenary protectors of Raven Court since age immemorial. It is only natural that their commander, Zarya, the Phantom Knight, serves as one of the four generals of the Raven Lord's army.

They all are part of Raven Lord realm.

Well, because it's horrible. Like, especially bad. But more than that, though, it's starting to (assumably) leak out into the game itself and we're going to start getting horrible "HotS-unique" heroes, which is a terrible idea. Except Lunara was a character (a minor one) and I believe Brightwing is the same situation; at any rate I'd greatly appreciate random Warcraft races/Starcraft units becoming fleshed out heroes over lame HotS lore characters.

Lunara was introduced in Legion after being created for HoTS. Brightwing is also indeed, not the same situation.

I'd take HoTS lore over bullshit like Murky any day.
