Yeah, I will be seeing Spiderverse day ONE. Might even need to break with tradition and see it in 3D, the visual style and all the webslinging would really play into it.

And yeah, I think that is the first time we've seen OGWasp... She looks MMAADDDDDDDDDD.

Hadn'd noticed that, nice. I love when they put tiny little touchest like that into the costumes.

For me, this is the benchmark for all comic shows. Gotham does it PERFECTLY, there are so many scenes that feel like they've been lifted right off the damn page.

Strangely, the only other show that does this is Utopia. A show ABOUT a comic, but not BASED on one.

    Gods, I miss that show...

So, for me personally at least, Cloak & Dagger joins Inhumans, The Gifted and Runaways in the group of Marvel's horrible soppy syrup-filled young adult / teenager crapshows filled with vapid drama and angst, your typical nonsensical teeny drama shows riding on the back of the superhero craze, not really having anything at all to do with actual Marvel superheroes other than a very, very thin layer slapped on as an afterthought. Then again, that's just my two cents. Will work for people who like empty teenager/YA drama/romance shows.

Man I do so hope the New Mutants (albeit a movie, not a show) isn't yet another pointless teeny BS movie, like some borefest horror-wannabe that just uses the characters and setting as the very surface. But, seeing as though it's directed by Josh Boone, straight off the YA misery porn The Fault in Our Stars, it's not looking too good.

It's a bit sad indeed that these shows with the Marvel name slapped on them veer so far away from actual Marvel storylines, and from actually having the Marvel stuff - the characters, the world, the storylines - be the meat of the show, and then building the drama on top of that. Even the main ones fall short here and there, some of them more than others (DD, JJ, LC, IF, Defenders.) Here's hoping for a stellar Punisher season 2. Or hey, maybe Reynolds returns to TV with a Deadpool series. 10 episodes of Deadpool a year, how amazing would that be?

You guys are probably all over stuff like this already but having rewatched Infinity War on the weekend I'm thinking about it again, and seen some stuff around the internetz - my guess is Thanos didn't kill half the population - he created an alternate universe/timeline.

Gamora was the only one actually sacrificed to the Soul Stone, she's the only one inside it: this is different.

I suspect Antman & The Wasp might lay some groundwork for this split via The Quantum Realm timeline it appears they are preparing for: which will likely also take place in act 3 of A&W (first act, build up Wasp & Ghost, second act track and beat ghost, third act ???). Ghosts motivations are intentionally unannounced so far, and her phasing ability may be her phasing between universes (a manipulation of the quantum realm that doesn't involve shrinking/growing).

So half the population of the pre-snap universe is in the Avengers timeline, half in the Thanos timeline. That enables them to divy up the teams better - and also explains why the solution to every future threat isn't just, "somebody call Thor", etc. At the end of IW, literally everybody in the universe died - but who died depends on your perspective/universe. You could potentially open a subsequent movie with the same dirt-fading scenes, but have all the opposite people fading away - the same experience but from the perspective of the other universe: which split instantly when Thanos snapped.

The original comic-book storyline has it different in that they were dead, but I can't say what the heck this MCU crap is anymore.

X-Men/FF are just an afterthought, what Disney really wants is Fox's huge catalogue of shows for their streaming service.

Why does Sony keep trying to push half-baked spinoffs of Spider-man?

"Would you please let me join your p-p-party?
