And the thing is, the only one that are targeted in this ''fake news'' nonsense just so happen to report things Trump doesn't like. He then turns and praises motherfucking Breitbart (how could he not, 'cause Bannon), even allowing them to be the only ones to come at this one event where they of course publically fellated him. Even Fox News is calling Trump on this bullshit, are we so far down the rabbit hole that even them are now considered leftist liberal rags or somesuch?

If you think that's a good relationship between the Executive and the media at large, I don't think you get to call anyone delusional. And if anyone believes an independant press isn't absolutely required for a functional democracy, they're living in la-la land.

Not to say that American for-profit media conglomerates are perfect, far from it. But at least some of them try to cite facts and sources. Trump just spews whatever fantasy he believes at the time and makes teenage-like rant posts on Twitter. I have no idea how he could be considered more trustworthy.

Pedofile rings aren't jokes. That wikileaks gave any internet amatuer slueth more information than whatever levels of law enforcement actually investigate these things was a joke.

And what's ''the truth''? Because anything beyond simple facts (such as ''Donald Trump is POTUS'') is subjective. That's how reality works, there's always multiple ways to see any situation. The media's job is not to be 100% unbiased and perfect little doves, because that's completely impossible for humans to achieve. Their job is to try and keep their bias in check and use sources and fact-checking when reporting stories. Which they have failed at multiple times, true, but have also suceeded multiple times. Whereas Trump himself has been spewing little but ''muh feels'' nonsense most of the time. So I'd still believe them over him.

And the fact remains that whenever you like them or not, independant press is a cornerstone of democracy.
