There is always time. Again, while I hate political games, Trump won't get removed by the Senate. As far as political capitol, screw that. Trump is outgoing, the elections are over no elections for 2 years. The Dems have nothing to lose on this front. Again, I hate saying this crap cause I don't want impeachments or whatever crimes against our Constitution to be decided on the next election. This would be the safest of all.

The point I have made and the most important is the attempt, not the success. Just asking or suggesting using our military in this way is treason against the Constitution. I don't know any more serious crime that warrants another impeachment.

My editorial here for others who replied. People are giving Trump too much slack in what he is doing. Besides trying to attempt a coup (not the proper term, but we get it), Trump is also calling into question our whole electoral process. We mock all he has done, but in any scenario these attempts may work next time. Added to his weakening of democracy by telling the world our voting is not to be trusted. Again, Putin has had his return a million fold, by making our elections not seem legit. He does this more blatantly to other countries throughout the world.

One last thing, is Trump with his cult followers lets say at least have enough people who again next election will say its illegitimate. These people maybe Trump cultists, but we know they hate the other side and hate the change in our country even more. So the next person who can channel that they will be right back on board with not agreeing with anything that will be to our democracy.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

No I know. Just even if, we get the two, in there really isn't enough time to run the process and remove him before Biden gets in if we only needed 51.

hmmm, if you cannot impeach Trump on time anymore: could you arrest everybody else for partaking in such attempts at least ?

Part of me really wishes Trump would try the Martial Law thing. If only because the MAGA inbreds and republicans as a whole live under this idea that they are the party of the military. Outside of little Johnny who joined the Marines out of high school, support for Trump isn’t exactly overwhelming. The officer core is very much anti Trump and watching the Republican base come to terms with the military not supporting them would be fantastic

‘PROVE ME NUTS!’ Giuliani Goes on Wild Rant Pushing Voting Machine Conspiracies After Companies Threaten Legal Action

Rudy Giuliani continued to dig in on conspiracy theories about voting machines on Sunday, after a series of legal threats to himself and others who have made similar claims.

Claim after claim Giuliani and others have brought to court have been rejected by judges, including ones appointed by President Donald Trump. Republican officials in the states they have contested have defended the integrity of the elections in their states, but Giuliani continued digging in on his insistence that it’s going to turn out President Donald Trump won.

Giuliani raised his voice on his radio show Sunday as he complained that the voting machines were not “honest” and that states don’t want to take up his wild claims.

He “guaranteed” that once the voting machines are inspected, “Donald Trump will be president of the United States.”

There was reporting Saturday that Giuliani asked the Department of Homeland Security about seizing the voting machines, but “was told the department does not have the authority to do such a thing.”

Giuliani flipped out on the radio Sunday and attacked Dominion, accusing them of being crooked and going “all the way back to a bunch of communists!”

    And he got even angrier:

“I can smell crooks! Smell ’em! And these crooks smell so bad, you can smell ’em from a mile. Now PROVE ME WRONG! PROVE ME NUTS! They love to say I’m nuts on left-wing bullcrap companies, so prove me wrong.”

A few minutes later, Giuliani attacked the CEO of Dominion as a “Canadian liar” after he publicly pushed back on these conspiracy theories.

But Giuliani also turned his ire on Republicans, asking if they’re “too afraid of Dominion.”

“I find you, the Republican turncoats, the Republican quislings, the REAL villains there!” he declared. “You’re acting like Dominion owns you!”

At one point, Giuliani said, “I could be wrong about all this, but I’m willing to stake my reputation on it… Let me do the machines.”

President Trump himself then called in for a few minutes, saying he spoke to Senator-elect Tommy Tuberville, who has publicly said he may challenge the election results when Congress takes it up.

Later on in the program, Giuliani said he wants people to go to state capitols to “put pressure on these quisling Republicans.”

Giuliani also entertained a wild conspiracy theory about Dominion votes being sent to and tabulated in Germany, “based on its connection with Smartmatic, which it denies.”

“It denies that it sent any votes out of the country. We have definitive proof that it did. Definitive proof,” Giuliani really, seriously said.

The conspiracy-mongering continued as Giuliani said “they were also counting votes in Barcelona, and they were sending folks to Venezuela… [and] Iran.”

He again attacked Dominion’s CEO and accused him of lying.

Both Dominion and Smartmatic have publicly demanded retractions and threatened legal action over claims made by Giuliani and others.

As you’ve probably heard by now, Smartmatic sent a letter to Fox News about claims made on Lou Dobbs Tonight, Justice with Judge Jeanine, and Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. All three shows aired the fact-check one after another with an expert debunking claims that Giuliani himself was making.

Smartmatic’s demand to Fox News cited comments from Giuliani like “the machines can be hacked” and “they have no ability to audit meaningfully the vote” and “there is a backdoor and we actually have proof of some of the connections to it” and that Smarmatic owns Dominion and that “they use a Venezuelan company to count our ballots” and “our votes were sent overseas” and other wild claims. The company apparently sent a letter to Giuliani himself in addition to Fox, Newsmax, and OANN.

Meanwhile, Dominion recently sent a letter to Sidney Powell demanding she retract her “wild, knowingly baseless and false accusations.”

Well, the Arizona GOP Chair Kelli Ward is calling for him to "cross the Rubicon". Irony is that didn't the Roman Senate literally stab Julius Caesar in the back to get rid of him due to the fact he did just this thing.

Yes, the senators literally stabbed Julius Caesar in the back, front, and sides as a consequence of that (well, it took some time).

But that stabbing didn't save the flawed republic - the republic was irredeemably lost anyway and replaced by a hereditary rule (mostly by adoption).

I find it somewhat heartening, if only because it proves that the American judicial system feels absolutely zero obligation to bend to the wishes of the trump administration.

Now we just need to see if there’s any way to punish these fools for so baldly attempting to assault the democratic process.

Lets be fair prior to the electoral college voting I was worried (at least a little) something could happen. Trump does have an incredibly stacked supreme court. The electoral college has voted and I'll quote a line out of that article

Democrats do not appear concerned, courts have previously refused to throw out citizens' votes. On Twitter, Pennsylvania Lt. Governor John Fetterman responded to the lawsuit with a series of mocking images, including one depicting the "Trump Campaign" versus "Math."
Yea I'm not concerned, at all. This lawsuit is a fucking joke, what kind of imbecile thinks the electoral college vote has any chance of being overturned for no reason?

I think it more likely that trump decided he was still a bit short in covering his fast-arriving legal and financial obligations and needed another few rounds of fleecing his followers.

Perhaps trump initially believed he could steal this election illegitimately. But I’m fairly certain that his indignation lo this past month has been mainly as an 11th hour fundraiser to settle his debts that he spurs on by trying to paint it as a crusade against the supposed illegitimate Biden presidency.

I’d be surprised if trump actually believes he won and that Biden lost and actually thinks these lawsuits will go anywhere. It’d mean the conman is believing his own con, which is when the conman is truly in trouble.

The documents people are putting out suggests he does think he won. The quote "How could I lose when republicans did better than democrats down ticket?" explains a lot of his mentality to me.

Two quick headlines and one quick blurb from each -- highly related to the above.

Republicans desperate to avoid floor fight over Electoral College vote

Trump and his allies have railed against Gov. Brian Kemp (R) and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R), accusing them of not doing enough to investigate allegations of fraud.

The pro-Trump attorneys Powell and Wood have alleged that the voting machines were rigged to steal votes from Trump and that GOP officials took kickbacks from Democrats, although they have notably not provided any evidence of those claims in court.

They’ve also called on Georgians not to vote in the special election, saying the results can’t be trusted. Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn became the latest figure in Trump World to raise questions about the validity of the January runoff, calling it a “fake election” in an interview with Newsmax on Friday.
Trump campaign asks Supreme Court to overturn three rulings on Pennsylvania mail-in ballots

The filing comes after the high court previously declined to hear two cases seeking to overturn the results of the election, one from Pennsylvania Republicans and the other from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Trump has not offered proof. He has offered accusations, hearsay within hearsay, and conspiracy theories. Some of the Republican Party remains, and are growing tired of watching Trump attack and berate them for not hopping on the crazy train. But simply saying "No, I'm not going to vote to overthrow democracy" isn't enough. I've never voted to overthrow democracy. Not overthrowing democracy's not that special, or more to the point, shouldn't be. Denouncing these insane attacks, "put Trump in office because Trump" shouldn't be special either. Hell, you've seen me do it for five weeks and change.

Until the Republican Party actually says "No, this is stuid, stop doing it" they're just members of the Party of Trump for all I care. Silence is acceptance. I mean, even McConnell has said "please don't block the vote" and not "we're not blocking the vote" which rates up there with "oh we'll keep the prince in here, obviously, but if he did have to leave, and we were with him..." levels of effectiveness.

The Republican Party has lowered heads and Idle voices.

I initially thought that there is no way Biden would win, now that Trump will be the hero who saves US from covid. People would say he needs to start a war to remain in office, but got handed a pandemic. Which should have the same cheerleading as a war would cause, without Trump being a warmonger.

What I forgot in that initial thought... Is that Trump is a real estate and hospitality mogul, without any vision beyond a quick buck. He didn’t do anything, but downplay it... because it keeps his hotels and golf courses open.

Edit: lol Tulsi in there... fucking automatons meme was such a self own business alt right.
