I have the feeling that today is going to feel like the worst episode of 24 ever.
Folly and fakery have always been with us... but it has never before been as dangerous as it is now, never in history have we been able to afford it less. - Isaac Asimov

Hopefully tomorrow will be the finale of this four year season of "America." The writers were getting a bit over the top these past few episodes.

https://twitter.com/jdawsey1/status/...652322310?s=20VP Pence is not expected to attend President Trump's sendoff at Joint Air Force Base Andrews tomorrow morning, per White House officials. He is attending the inauguration later in the day, and aides say it would be logistically challenging for the vice president to do both.
Haha, yikes.

No, but in their efforts to support him they are only dragging him down. Granted, they follow his example so he's just as guilty. It's like a self-destructive feedback loop.

Well, throwing a pity party on the same day as the DC equivalent of Homecoming is pretty self-defeating. Given the opportunity to attend either a who's who gala of the political elite or to watch Trump waddle on to a plane and jet off to Florida, I can't imagine anyone in the press or government choosing the latter unless they're the most loyal of Trump loyalists.

Guys...I have a sincere question based off this article covering the rift between Trumpublicans and Republicans...
If Trump causes the GOP to split in half and functionally pushes them out of most seats of power as a result, especially nationally...will America be Great Again?
I can, the types that think the "who's who of the political elite" are all "THESWAMP", and media who drew the short straw and have to cover that instead of the inauguration.
For Pence specifically, based on other reporting, I guess he still think he has a political future. I'm genuinely not sure why, though. He's permanently attached to Trump at the hip, but Trump's base absolutely hates his guts with a passion. He would be a good establishment-party suit, but his proximity to Trump and the things he had to do for Trump taint him there even as much as other establishment types would probably like to give him hug if they're a dude (no-homo, though, Mother wouldn't be pleased).
I'm shocked that Pence thinks he has any kind of political future. The only way he does is if establishment Republicans pretend the last 4 years didn't happen...which I doubt they'll ever be allowed to forget.
