FFXIV news on front page, please

I think the reality is there arent enough people working for the website to do updates for more than just the games we have now. Could be wrong.

Sure, and thats fine, but it probably wouldnt be hard to get someone to do it for free. That is before considering stuff like, is it even worth posting HotS updates? It is pretty much a dead game. Not to mention that there is a lot of stuff you could do without having front page news, like giving proper forum support with multiple different subforums for different parts of the game.

Weird, remember when MMO-champ used to cover other MMOs? I do. Wasn't a lot of traffic for those games. It could be turned around that the 'champion' of MMOs is a certain game that has been covered for years.

Maybe because unlike FF there are multiple avenues and reddits for Wow? Wowhead, mmo-champ, specific reddits such as wow economy and other split wow reddits. Did you go add all of that together? No? Oh. Maybe you should do that before trying to spout 'facts'.

That would require them to get more moderators...and they're already stretched thin on that front.

The HotS updates, as I understand it are made by one guy that still plays HotS.

If MMO-C tried to add in FFXIV support...it would just end up being a half-assed effort and people would still be going to other places to get the relevant information.

Of course they do. It has a lot more than WoW has due to it having so much content for different communities, so there end up being a lot of specialised websites for certain communities. There are websites dedicated for everything. Not to mention that in the modern day, one of the biggest sources of places were players talk and share information nowadays is community discord servers, something that ffxiv also has a ton of.

The FF section has been around for years, it is the fault of the posters in those sections for not discussing the game? If the game needs that much help to generate discussion that is pretty sad.

They can post it if they want, I'd rather not see it and would want it to have its own header like HotS and OW have so I don't have to see that crap either.

While the site is called MMO-Champion, it's very clear the site has always mainly reported on Blizzard games and Blizzard news. Yes there was a time when they tried reporting on other companies games, but it wasn't very successful.

Also stop being so anal about the websites name when it's clear it was made primarily for World of Warcraft.

And as others have pointed out already, reporting on another major MMO would mean additional staff, and I doubt the owners of the site would be interested in that, especially when there are enough other sites reporting on FF14 stuff (probably).

Overwatch+hots get places, and theres arguably less news.

Plot summaries, guides, news about world firsts, community news/events, etc. Lots of potential!

Ill generally agree that HotS shouldnt be a focus anymore -- but on the secondary part, outside of world firsts/events/dates/etc.....the rest is kind of pointless. Why guides or plot summaries? That isnt even stuff that is posted on front page for WoW usually.

To me that just sounds like there isnt a lot of news that can be posted on FF14 and instead transform it into a lite-Reddit. If we want to give things that would give more credence to FF14 -- then we sure as hell should give that same treatment to WoW.

I never said that there is nothing to discuss about WoW. You are making a fool out of yourself. I am the one arguing for the website called MMO-champion to support more MMOs. I am not arguing for them to stop supporting wow. It is pretty obvious that there is a lot to discuss about a lot of games.

Final Fantasy started because FFXI was a "failure"(was able to make back its costs and make some money but not enough for them) so they already started making XIV in like 2005 and it failed so bad they had to redo it. I'd say needing to start over twice and having a decade or two of development be a waste goes to show what's clearly the superior product. It may not be what you like but clearly enough people do that Blizzard hasn't needed to do a WoW2.

Umm...FFXI was such a massive success for them it literally saved the company from bankruptcy...FFXIV arr did much the same if i recall right.

XI is also still running with a sub and despite being in "Maintenance" it still has updates

Events happening in game. New transmog. Patch notes. They post all kinds of worthless WoW "updates". they can manage to post ACTUAL updates from other MMOs.

Good thing the XIV launcher has all of that and more

most of the WoW news is in progress PTRs, FFXIV has nothing like that

I literally play both games. Since day 1 ive played wow has had way more people in the world. Ive gone 15 mins in ff14 without seeing 1 person. Whereas I can barely go 2 in wow without seeing someone.

Literally every capital on every server has people in it constantly. People everywhere doing things like concerts, showing off xmog, roleplaying, ect. I was sitting in Gridania for nearly an hour this morning at 5am watching a couple of bards perform musical numbers, most of which were from Wicked.

I have no idea what 15 minutes you were doing, but this idea there's nobody in FF14 is so insanely disingenuous.
