Also, I can't get down on fursuiters. To me they're no crazier than the people who dress up for sci-fi/fantasy/comic cons, or the guy who paints himself in his sports team's colors and goes to the game half-naked. Long as they're obeying the law, it's their time and their money.

I think I agree. You people should stop talking about the people behind the accounts in Trials of Asca... Ascension. After all, although they might be acting very hostile towards what seems to be the painful truth about their project, and as funny as the whole thing might be, they, poor long time fans, will be the ones hurt the most by the Forged Chaos scoundrels.

I'm not on a "side", I'm just here for the drama and funnies. A 35 year old man who believes he's a dog that calls us trolls, and compares us to the bubonic plague, and thinks we're delusional for not believing in this game is just hilarious to me.

Yeah I'm with you on that one Valarius (the hilarious part), but someone that thinks we are the bubonic plague and goes off rants like that is just plain beneath me. I'll make fun of some random things they do or say, but I'm not gonna go too much farther than that.

If you are an Indy developer, the main guy must be a coder and should have design experience. It is difficult to explain, but it is why I keep laughing at their ´roadmap´.. If you never made a game before, then you have no clue what the difficult parts are. Most of the stuff on their roadmap should have been done in a week, and then there are things that are vital to a MMORPG that they never mention and probably still don´t know they need to add.

If you are a huge developer with a big budget, then you can hire specialist.

Generally speaking, an MMO worth any salt needs to either a) Start out incredibly minimalistic and work it's way up (see: tibia, runescape) or b) have an incredible vision and a private investor interested in capitalizing on that vision.

Alternatively, you need to build a warchest as a company working on smaller projects to get the grasp on the basics like server client architecture. As someone who works in CS, startups like these who don't show a lick of caution when it comes to taking and storing your information is a recipe for disaster.

Ultimately, unless you've got a very very experienced team or access to some very seasoned individuals who can get you on the happy path from the get goal, the best advice to a prospecting massively multi-player game is "don't". If EA/Bioware couldn't make an MMO and not go titanically over budget, I can't possibly expect anyone else to succeed without some concrete proof.

On a related note, I did want to go to their forums and ask some 'hard' questions, but the thought of having them associated with even my 5th fake email was too much to bear. Somehow I feel like they could siphon money out of my bank through osmosis or something.
