You are comparing 2 huge different things!!!!

The guys you are looking at, have his 2 set bonus and 4 set bonus.
2 set = 3 charge of aveging wrath thus more hammer of wrath casting. in the first 1.30min
4set = increase dmg by 5% each second for 10 second after casting Avenging wrath.

There a huge gap comparing your dps vs his dps.

I open with execution sentence followed by my first avenging wrath I used hammer as i closed the gap into a crusader into hammer into judge into hammer before first final verdict.

Hum,, looking at your armory, it seems you paid for an Mythic run and got crazy lucky on your weapon and a few other pieces.
It's tough to compare or even explain your dps made with your old gear.

However, the only think I can see is:
1. Don't delay your avenging wrath on Zakuun. Pop the 3 charge back to back. ONe charge with pre pot... other charge with nothing... 3rd charge with your second
pots.

2. Use seraphim for this fight. Your burst will be incredible and constant for the 3 avenging wrath cast.

As for the ring, the contribution seems fair for gear your may had in that time.

Yep, it's an alt I haven't played since BRF and I decided it was easier to just buy a boost rather than gearing it up with my main's guild where ppl still need items aaaand, I got luckier than I expected, almost caught up to my main in terms of ilvl, well, on prot spec anyway.

I tried aligning AW with ES each time, but you do have a good point, the fight isn't that long and by doing this I'm guessing I could even compensate for the little downtimes if I get seed on me.
Regarding seraphim, I kept alternating between it and FV trying to see which one how plays and for ST at least I'll be sticking to Sera.

So I guess it's down to practicing and learning the timers from a DPS PoV.

this is my profile, I would really appreciate any feedback you can offer, I noted that i used heroic class trinket for those logs, but i also own a mythic unending hunger and mythic discordant chorus, next time I plan on using the unending hunger to test viability but again any feedback is welcomed, I know i should be doing a lot more dps

Your dps isn't that bad.
It's still a progression fight.
I got a ret pally in my guild doing this fight on a regular basis and doing around 100k-105 dps..maybe he should do more, but they are controlling the fight and doesn't cheat any mechanics like some guild could.

However, this is one of our best guild on the server and the pally is doing 104k dps on manno at (743ilvl).

Same problem at Nitos, slow start and wrong rotation during wings for FV with Sanctified Wrath talents.

Re-read the guides linked above for rotation during wings with Sanctified Wrath.

Note: That it will feel odd at first because the 2nd HoW is not quite ready yet but it's better to do HoW CS small delay HoW FV during SW AW than replace the 2nd HoW with J or Exo. If you use a rotation helper like clcret or hekili it's important to set a clash time to enable this.

Holy mainspec here forced to play ret for a few fights as not many of our healers have DPS offspecs.

Looking for feedback on this. Trinkets I have right now are Chorus (Mythic) LoV (heroic) UH (Mythic) EDH (Heroic, but now all our dps has the mythic version so I may get my hands on it soon) and BoA trinket

Also my ring was only 750 ish on this pull, I have been working on it and it's about 780 now.

can't link as this is my first post, my character is Urwena on Blade's Edge EU. My dps on boss fights is ~50k and sim tells my dps should be 55k so this is quite ok.

I have ~11% haste raid buffed. What do you think about this? Appreciate the advise.

Stat weights are not static they are relative, add more haste the power of mastery/multistrike rises and vice versa.

Haste's weight will vary wildly on fight length, whether it's single target/cleave/add wave type fight, what trinkets are used and what talents.

Sim again and enable Reforge Plots in the Options choosing haste and mastery, this will make your sim take ages but will show you the affect of swaping x haste for x mastery in a graph, you can see it's not as simple as stack haste.

For Xhul

You got 7 fel surges which is a lot, it tends to target the closest melee so make sure you try to be at max melee range right before the fel surge. xhul himself has the biggest hit box and the boss and the adds share hp so hitting xhul is easiest and fine.

There are multiple targets earlier in the fight and only the boss at the end so it's generally better use more wings charges earlier, it looks like your guild uses lust with 2nd ring at 2m (except it was late). Anyway you can use 3 wings before 2m and your 4th wings with ring/hero. Personally I just chain them back to back now but our kill time is faster, so you probably 2nd and 3rd wings a few seconds before an imp wave while both adds are alive. Delay wings if fel surge is about to come out as having to run away with wings up is painful.

LoV is viable on this fight if you remember to always cast CS before you run for fel surge. This gives you the maximum time to run out and back without it dropping.

There isn't really a haste cap, more a series of peaks where you might squeeze out an extra hammer of wrath during avenging wrath. After this value is reached, haste is back to being run of the mill. It's not worth worrying about as other things affect this as well.

I've never wrote here, just found out the forum while searching info about pala ret dps, so sorry if this is my first post but I'm in need of help.

I returned to WoW after a long stop, and resumed my old paladin. At the moment I mainly play ret, and would really like to improve, but when I downloaded skada and monitored my dps I saw that I'm doing terribly bad. At first it was because I still had no set gear, but now even though I have 2 pieces I still do bad and really cannot understand how to improve. It's already a month that I try doing better without results, and it is being so annoying that I'm really discouraged from playing my pally and am seriously thinking about abandoning it and switch to another class...


Since I'm not allowed yet to post any link, I cannot link here my armory, anyway my pally is Dugib on Mazrigos.
Regarding my gear, amulet is for prot but I just got a dps one of the same level for Kazzak and I'm gonna change it as I upgrade it. Helm is for PvP but as of today it literally is the best helm I've got for dps. Rest I think should be fine for ret, but any hint is welcome.

My average rotation is:

-Single target: Execution Sentence, AW (HoW, CS, HoW, FV) till AW elapses. When all AW charges are down, while I wait for the cd to reset, I usually do (in order of priority) CS / HoW, Ex, J, FV and finally pop AW again and repeat first rotation. While AW is up I can hold the burst, after that dps inexorably falls down no matter what...

-Multiple target: AW (HoW, CS / HotR, HoW, DS) till AW elapses, then go on with CS / HotR / HoW, Ex, J, DS

If I'm vs a single target, like a single boss, I pop all my cd and can burst as high as 60k dps or more, but after the initial burst my dps slowly falls down. Sometime I'm able to settle it around 40k-45k depending on the fight, but most of the times it falls down to 35k or less, which is a horrible for my level, and I've yet found no way to rise it anymore during the same fight.
Most of all I struggle terribly in fights vs many enemies (during which I'm also reluctant to pop AW all the time wanting to save it for the boss fights). When there are multiple targets (for example when multiple adds spawn during the same fight, or when clearing trash) if I've to frequently switch my target or hit more targets at the same time, then it's really hard for me to burst and most of all to keep a decent dps up.

I still have no logs as I just found this page and haven't registered any, but I'll try doing some during boss fights and post the most unsatisfying.
Last run I did I was in HFC HC, and as far as I remember I did about 45k average on all bosses, about 40k during Council and 35k during Assault. Then we came to Socrethar, and there my dps went pathetic, having to spend all the time to get away of the flames and jump from Soc to Dominator. Result: 30k dps and kick...

I really have no idea of what to do to improve, so any hint is welcome. I'll try to post some log in the next days.

Hey! Just a few things I've noticed.

During single target you mentioned you string all 3 charges of AW together? If that's true, don't do that unless the fight will last 90-100 seconds. You'll want to time your AW with your Execution Sentences every minute, so that it can benefit from the 50% dmg increase with your 4 piece (when you get it).

Your judgement will actually take priority over Exo, due to how Judgement triggers your seal dmg, and trinkets like Empty drinking horn, etc.

With multiple targets, you'll want to weave FV and DS, so that your DS can benefit from the 100% increased dmg. HoTR only really benefits when you have 4+ mobs for longer than 9ish seconds.


Also, I'm not sure how liquid you are in the way of gold, but definitely go get yourself some Mastery enchants, and Mark of the Bleeding hollow on your weapon. Mastery is our #1 stat, and it can basically double whatever your CS/HoW/FV/DS hit for at higher item levels. During Seraphim/Bleeding hollow proc, I can get to 117% mastery, so my mastery is actually hitting harder than my abilities.

OK, regarding the AW I do not string them together immediatly, I usually wait about 10 seconds and then pop the next one, so that as the third expires the first is again off cd. I do not wait long, otherwise I see the dps falling and everytime it's a struggle to get it up again, but I'll try timing them every minute with the Sentence.

I'll also prioritize J, though I use to prioritize Ex because I thought it dealt more damage and most of the times it resets in time to be used together with J.

For multiple targets I actually forgot to write that I also use FV, though I admit I do not use it often and just always prioritize DS over it, so I guess I lose a lot of extra damage by not casting FV... I'll try alternating them.

Regarding the enchants, I was planning to buy some as I keep upgrading gear (definetly I don't want to enchant my actual sword but wait to get a Calamity Edge, same for other gear pieces).

It wouldn't hurt at all to pick up the cheaper enchants (breaths) until you get gear that'll stick around for awhile. I'm not sure on prices on EU, but Mark of the Bleeding Hollow this late in the tier is about 100g on US.

Doubling back on gold, the crafted armor pieces can last you well into mythic raiding. If you were to get the crafted ring with let's say, crit/mastery, that's iLvl 725 when upgraded. I would suggest Ring/Bracers/Neck with Mastery, and either crit or multistrike.
